Birrificio Angelo Poretti.

The last time I drank this was when we were in Milan in that bar after EICMA. Happy days

I'm a trained alcoholic....I don't see or hear a beer being opened, I feel it.

Concerned with how much sugar I was consuming with tonic water in my G&T’s I’ve changed the way I pour. I now do a 1:1 ratio, and I’ve found (quite obviously) that you really get a much better appreciation for the actual taste of the individual gins.

Jess and I did an online gin tasting zoom on the weekend. Got a pack with blind samples and selected garnishes. The tasting was run by an old school friend of Jess’ that now has a very well known bar in the city. He showed how with a new Gin you should smell and taste it neat on ice first then pour tonic in at 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 steps and taste at each step to find where the best ratio is for that gin.

I’ve found from that evening I actually prefer my G&T’s at 1:1, an D.C. it’s making me appreciate each gin better and drinking slower, and reducing my sugar in

I like my vodka-tonics @ 2 parts tonic/1 part vodka. Diet tonic...I don't like the taste of regular, plus vodka itself is probably loaded with sugar anyway.
And no or very little ice....it takes up too much valuable space.

White spirits have next to no sugar content. Less than 1 gram per 100mls. The sugar has reacted to the yeast in the alcohol production stage and therefore consumed.

I don’t touch diet soft drinks at all. The artificial sweeteners have been proven to actually cause more weight gain than the sugar content does.

And I’m sure that post of yours should be read “I liked my vodkas......” ???
