I might ask my mate at Sutton Honda when they're getting them.

According to my mate:-

No dates known at present. No prices known.

The SP is hopefully available from March, with the SP2 version a few months later.

Just reading a review in Bike magazine and although there are some absolutely awesome bikes in the current superbike class I wouldn't be surprised if the all new Fireblade SP is challenging for top honours in 2017.

The colours are growing on me and the photos look awesome. I'm lookin forward to seeing the real thing 8)

I honestly can't imagine a new Fireblade NOT taking top honours. If Honda puts out anything at all, it's a well thought out, well rounded product. I'd put Yamaha right up there with them as far as the Big Four go, but Suzi and Kawi are just also-rans...not that they're by any means bad bikes, but while they may excel over the the other bikes in certain areas, the Y's & H's are the one's you'd want to ride...or at least own, every day.

D41 posts something worth reading. Well I never :D Well almost, In the 90s and early 00s the big four traded places with their liter suprtsports. Honda have been out of the fight for some time and I think Yamaha and Kawasaki have been the only two title contenders.

You're right, they won't mess about with their flagship bike.

There’s a lot to go at, even in this more standard form – with 90% of the 2017 model being brand new. Power to weight ratio is improved by 14% – reaching the best level ever for the Fireblade thanks to a 15kg weight reduction and 10.7bhp power boost. It’s also equipped with a plethora of electronics that were so obviously missing from previous Blades. Central to the system is the 5-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which measures exactly what the machine is doing, in every plane. It works the 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control traction control (HSTC) that precisely manages rear wheel traction via the FI-ECU and Throttle By Wire (TBW). The new Bosch ABS braking (also managed by the IMU) offers Rear Lift Control (RLC) and Wheelie Control – all dragging the Blade into this decade.

And that’s not all. There’s a frankly dazzling amount of settings to choose from, with three rider modes, five levels of power delivery, three levels of wheelie control, and three levels of engine braking control. Thankfully you can make simple selections that allow you to ride away in under 15 minutes, too.

Like the RC213V-S the Fireblade uses a full-colour TFT liquid crystal dash to clearly communicate information to the rider. It automatically adjusts to ambient light, and features three modes: Street, Circuit and Mechanic, each with the information most relevant for that particular usage.

There are three preset riding Modes, Track, Winding, and Street that offer different combinations of HSTC, Engine Power and Engine Braking level. Track mode gives full power, with linear throttle response, and low HSTC and EB intervention. Winding mode controls output through first to third gear, with fairly moderate power increase, medium HSTC and strong EB. Street mode controls output through first to fourth gear, with moderate power increase, high HSTC and strong EB. In the two USER modes all parameters can be combined and adjusted to the rider’s preferences.

There was no way Honda were going to mess around with this, you knew they would up the bar with the Fireblade.

I like the looks of that paintscheme as well

I like the option of tuning in or out the amount of engine braking. Very clever.

Let's hope it's not too difficult to programme.

Is that where it tuts, shakes its head and then tells you it's not going to be cheap?

you missed out the part where it tells you how silly it was to try and fix it yourself and that you've made it worse

I don't 'like' that bit by the tank...but I see it's function.

That tail tidy would immediately find it's way onto eBay...or the tip (same thing).

Screen looks very usable. The wheels looks epic. Only thing that bike really needs is me.

No word on prices yet.

It'll be interesting to see how they go with that. The 2017 ZX10RR has with special light-weight Marchesini wheels plus Brembo M50 front calipers but none of the fancy suspension found on the Fireblade SP

saw it at the nec and was was a little disappointed. under the new fairing looks like the old bike with electronics.

However was really shocked with the gsxr 1000 it looks so cheaply made.
