I'm moving more and more towards selling the ZX6R for scrap and keeping the SX long term.

I really like the SX. It's (so far) dependable, easy to ride, pretty decent build quality and although the handling is a bit lazy compared to a more sportier bike it can still put a smile on my face.

So the question is what to go with next.

To be honest none of the current 600cc bikes really tickle my fancy.

I think I'm being tempted back to having a naked bike for weekend fun. As much as I love a screaming 600cc I rarely get on a track so I can't get the most from it. Modern nakeds handle really well and have engines more geared for road action. Even if I do decide to do a track day I reckon a naked would be good fun.

Another option is to take the plunge and own a 1 litre sportsbike. I do like the look of the new ZX10r.

Whatever I decide to do I won't be in any rush. September and October are going to be busy for me. On the plus side that means we should see the 2017 models announced, so you never know, there may be something we don't know about yet that might catch my eye.

Hard one to call tbh. I know you like the zx10r and some great deals on the 2016 bike so maybe worth ticking the litre sports bike box and having that experience even if only for a year or two.

If I was going naked for fast road I would go S1000RR or Tuono v4. Out of the 2 probably s1000r as more reliable with better back up and dealer network.

I'm going to ask to take out the z800 to see how that compares to the z1000.

I'm not sure where my nearest BMW dealer is.

No idea why but BMW Motorrad dealers are thin on the ground round here. Wolverhampton and and Rednall are the only two.

Sounds like a plan but think i would go for a sports version of a naked. All the fun of a sportsbike but none of the aches and pains after a day in the saddle.

New Speed Triple would be worth a try.

Triumph are next door to Kawasaki so I could see if they've got a speed triple to take out.

Next bike, I reckon the 1299 paningale would have to be amongst the first options.:

you need a Suzuki Burgman 650 for your commuter tool, plenty of storage and twist and go fun. you can have the fun i did trying to change down gears that aren't there when slowing for junctions.

Bike shopping!! I'm sure everyone can help out here mate [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]. What about the 636 ninja. I realise you said probably not a sports bike but it is really comfy and plenty of torque (not as much as 675 but it is still a 4 cylinder) it could be a good compromise?

As you know I love my 600's but after 5 days on a s1000rr it really opened my eyes. The front and rear electronic suspension really is very smooth. Way smoother than my 675r. You can easily spend days on it without any aches and pains. The auto blipper and electronics on it are awesome. It sound amazing as stock and I haven't even got onto that barn storming engine yet! It's fast!
It did take me a bit to gel with it but I definitely did love it by the end.

The new 636 zx6r is a nice bit of kit but it doesn't do anything for me looks wise.

The 2017 paint job may be more to my tastes.

I did briefly think about a maxi scooter for the commute but I reckon it would bore me.

Rednal is your nearest dealer. I used to work within walking distance of it. Nice people. Right next door to the McLaren Dealership too

I'm not sure you'd enjoy a litre sportsbike, partly because i know you like to wring the neck of a bike, plus insurance costs i suppose.

You can have a blast on my STR should you fancy it.

I was impressed by the s1000r in the Dolomites and have yest rode a v4 tuono both alot of fun and very good bikes. Suspension and brakes on the beemer were superb.

I love the Tuono.. really need to get out on a test ride with one.

A supernaked is definitely the ideal bike for the road IMO. Great suspension, brakes and power but comfortable for longer jaunts

I test rode the first gen 1000 v4 tuono and it was alot of fun. The second gen 1100 v4 tuono with ohlins suspension will be even more bonkers addictive fun imo
