Anyone use these on the road?
Thinking of making them the next fitment on the 748 which only ever gets used on dry days.

Pretty sure I run these- I'll check when I get home. Haven't even approached the limits on the road, quick to heat up, perfect summer road tyre!

Andy may well be right, they were OEM figment to both the 675 Daytonas I've had (still got one of them), they were a good road tyre with loads of grip when hot, but not so bright in the wet and cold in my experience, although I know several people that have had different experiences with the SP's in cool conditions.

I've just got in and definitely have them on the 675. Really couldn't fault them in the dry and good enough for the occasional trackday if you warm them up
I asked the tyre guy at Oulton for his opinion and he said they were brilliant tyres.
I couldn't comment on their longevity yet but suspect that isn't really what you're interested in!

Cheers guys. No longevity isn't on the list of priorities.
The Panigales had them fitted at Snetterton last week and they gave loads of feel and grip albeit that was on a track on a bike with lots of power.
Always like trying something different though. The Rosso Corsa which are fitted at the moment have been a round for a few years now so no doubt the Supercorsa has newer technology.

Got them on the zx10r and they are a great tyre. Loads of grip and warm up nicely. They do give you lots of feed back through the bars and I find can be a bit stiffer than a more road oriented tyre meaning they can be a bit more flighty over bumps in the road the V2 of the sp is a dual compound and I paid £220 delivered from tyre leader

These Avons are supposed to be excellent.

Got them on the SP2 and it gets used just like your 748 Duke.
Best tyre out there imo for what you want it for. The Version 2 has a dual compound rear too so better mileage, although it is obviously not sports touring mileage.

The SP is still too soft for the road IMO.. I prefer a tyre like the Dunlop Sportsmart or Rosso Corsa on the road.
The reason is you don't get that much more out of an SP on the road than you would the other two simply because of temperature. I don't go much faster with Racetecs on than I do a standard road tyre - although yes, you can feel a difference!

All good advice. I will make a decision in July when they will need changing. The bike only ever gets used for a thrash for a couple of hours.

For me tyres are 50% recommendation and 50% what you've tried and like tbh. All tyres these days are pretty blooming good! (apart from Maxxis
)

I agree with Cav If your not taking it on track i would get a more road based tyre for it. Depends on what you want to use it for and what feed back you want.
The only reason i bought the supers was I'm tempted to try it on track and they were £10-20 more

Duke I have had Rosso Corsa on my Blade and Zx10r. At least 5 sets as I love them and there a great tyre.
I ride the ten back to back with the SP2 which has supercorsa SP on and the Supercorsa are much better steering and inspire much more confidence imo.
I don't think the mileage is much different in my experience and I know on the 748 you said it wasn't of much importance. Personally I would give the Supercorsa a try which im confident you will absolutely love.

I had the supercorsas, great feeling, brilliant turn in in dry conditions, wet was scary km my opinion but after 7 days on them I came off on a roundabout, never went back to them too track focused for me!
