New series starts next year. I thought they have given up on the TV side of it and were sticking with films only

its going to be set in the period between Kirk and Picard apparently , only the pilot will be broadcast , the rest are all going to be available on CBS online - which you have to pay for , its late - it should have been started earlier to coincide with the 50th anniversary

It'll be on torrent sites as soon as it's released.

Makes sense I suppose...the Star Trek "Deep Space Nine" thing was fairly decent if memory serves....low profile though.

I never got on with Deep Space 9.

I liked Voyager. Enterprise was ok but it drifted. The best think about it was Jolene Blalock

I've watched them all bar Enterprise - couldn't get into that despite Ms Blalock's charms, fingers crossed its not another bore fest like that, it'll be on a terrestrial channel at some point, I'll see it then, not fussed tbh.

They'll be tracking downloads on that for sure. I wouldn't be downloading it without a VPN.

Might have been Voyager...dunno??
Was always more into SW because they were movies that had a continuing plot.

Star Trek was always the same thing...they'd come into contact with 'strange new life' or whatever...four of them would beam down, and the one hapless guy in the red 'security' shirt would instantly get vaporized or come to some other untimely end.
Space 1999 was the same thing, just a British version of Star Trek done by the Andersons using US actors in the leads....I liked it, but when you see it now it's just dreadful.

Fun fact!!.... Lucas had the Millennium Falcon totally redesigned after he watched '1999'...the original looked very similar to Moonbase Alpha's crappy "Eagle" spacesleds.

I still want a part in one of the next movies...I'm going to try and have the GF pull some strings to get me into a frickin' stormtrooper uniform or sommit....it's frickin' immortality!!

I see the guy who plays Chekov in the new films has been killed by his own car

A certain amount of darwinism sadly. I love how the mail blame the car defects when its only the same as having a manual car and forgetting to leave the handbrake on. One of my cars has a similar gear stick and i don't leave mine in neutral. Also, why would the car still be running? I know mine goes into park automatically if you switch it off.

Sad though.

Most drivers here don't know how to drive a 'stick'....it's a known issue on the vehicles in question, but sadly not known well enough, it seems. Common for people tol eave their vehicles running here....especially during this heatwave....keeps the air on, keeps the vehicle interior cool, etc....turn them off and they might not start back up.
