£55 included in my new insurance. Anywhere cheaper? I think it's a necessity to have as I needed to use it once. Does anyone here risk not having it?

I would not be without cover, been stranded at the side of the road and never again!!
Used RAC they were as useless as a chocolate fire guard, went with Green-flag, used twice very good service, they use proper bike transport wagons and are the best prices around.

As I've got an Italian bike, being without breakdown cover would be plain daft...

Personally, I've had very bad experiences with insurance inclusive breakdown and would never go that way again. I stick with the RAC as they've sorted me out on s couple of occasions. I've got a personal policy that covers myself and the Mrs for any vehicle we are driving.

Take breakdown through Quidco and get cashback!

Swap your bank account over to the nationwide. 10 quid a month and you get a 500 quid overdraft, UK/EU breakdown/recovery, travel insurance and phone insurance. Used it a few time now and they've been great and even cover you as a passenger in someone else's car.

AA are excellent, RAC terrible in my experience when it comes to bikes.

I'm with AA literally have nothing bad to say about them they have sorted me out in cars and bikes! Me and my partner have a joint account which covers us on anything

We're with the AA as well, there's three of us on a Silver family policy, both myself and Mrs Gee have had cause to use it, in other people's cars mostly as well. Although I've had a vehicle and a bike recovered, one with a stone through the rad and the bike with a fuel pump failure.
No complaints about the AA at all, plus their app has live traffic and a good recovery feature.

the AA are very goo IMO, sorted me out when the clutch imploded on the 999.
