I am quite proud of myself

Post by T.C. »

I have hit the 1 year anniversary of when I quit smoking

To say I am quietly proud and slightly chuffed with this achievement is an understatement.

Here is to the next 12 months as an ex smoker.

Well done. I still get massive cravings when I've had a drink.

Well done TC (y)

I gave up smoking 14 years ago. Might sound obvious but best advice imo is continue as you are and NEVER have a cigarette. I know if I have one it will lead to another as wrongly I will feel the addiction has past and I'm in control.

Well done and log my it continue (y)

I know what you mean, although I surprisingly found giving up easy compared with many and have not had any cravings since I quit plus I have the added incentive of staying quit. It is called Heart Failure.

Insurance companies and my Cardiologist now consider me at 1 year quit as a non smoker. Bonus :)

But I quit 3 monrths before I was taken ill and disgnosed

Well done TC, it's not an easy thing to do, so you should be proud.

I forget how long ago it was that I quit, something like 12 years. I cheated though and used drugs, mind you I was smoking about 40 Marlborough red's a day...

Dad gave up after being told he wouldn't have legs within a few years, Mum gave up when the Doctor looked at her and said "- and you'll be pushing his wheelchair, because if you don't give up he won't either." Fair play to them they'd both smoked for over 50yrs and just stopped cold turkey, they both stayed non-smokers as well.

It's a good thing you've managed T.C, well done you and here's to remaining a non-smoker! (beer)
