I looked at that pic and thought "They're not standing on a plinth of any kind..."

Spinning the rear on the straight isn't something you want from a bike kicking that much power out.

looking at the top speeds on the straight , the data doesn't appear to back up his comments .

doesnt back it up at all dose it.Rossi had a perfect weekend ,cant take that away from him.I suspect JLO will start moaning quite a bit about yamaha now he is on the move. Some spy shots have caught some development parts on Rossis bike that JLO hasnt got,let the grumbling commence

Just shows winning races is not always about having the fastest bike. I wonder how much Rossi's additional weight and size contributes to him being slower on the straight?

I don't know if it will Duke....I remember an old comparison between Jackie Stewart and some other F1 driver...Stewart was consistently slower on the straights, yet faster through the turns...which is pretty much where a race is won IMO.
One of the bike mags tested/looked into the same thing with Rossi/Lorenzo a while back....aerodynamically, Rossi is just about perfect size-wise....Lorenzo is "too small"...I forget the dynamics of how that works.
