Lost in space. Haven't seen this film for years and years and to be honest have forgotten a lot about it. Pretty sure I saw this at the cinema when I was 10!!

Wonder Woman - I quite enjoyed it - 8/10 - point of interest the creator of the character Wonder Woman also had a hand in inventing the polygraph machine which it turns out is neither as reliable or accurate as the Lasso of Truth .

Probably not!!

Here's the thing with N. Korea.....Seoul, the capital of S. Korea, is only 30 miles or so from the border, so any sort of armed conflict immediately puts the capital in jeopardy. Fallout from a nuke would just be like mustard gas in WWI....kills both sides.

Gives a whole new meaning to having Korean BBQ, I suppose.

You don't think that Chinese support for NK is more "for show", "in keeping with our comrades" etc. these days??

would you like to test their resolve ? I don't believe the US would escalate the situation without firm assurances from China that they would not intervene , that said I'm not a raving megalomaniac ......

I don't think China are that interested. They've turned their attention to places like Pakistan. North Korea has very little to offer China in terms of commercial development which is what they're into now - send companies in and build up economic trust, then increase your influence.

More hurricane damage on the news as "Harvey" makes a second landfall. 30 fatalities so far.....that figure will rise as the waterline falls.

Enough to make your heart sink....

Polygraphs are VERY reliable, but they're highly dependant upon who is asking the questions/how the questions are structured/phrased....stuff like that
....otherwise there's a lot of room for error

China's interest in North Korea is largely in part that it borders are shared and North Korea is a buffer from the US military heavily occupied South. Russia has a similar interested as they also share a small border area.

I just hope what ever happens, happens soon and is done and dusted. Our next Offshore project (which will be my continued employment) will be built in South Korea as was the platform I'm on now, which will involve me spending a fair bit of time there if things line up. That likelihood is 2-4 yrs away.

The News.

Apparently the US staged it's own little "mock bombing run" at North Korea yesterday......10 planes....one of them an atomic bomber, etc.

Kim Jong Un was quoted as being "velly atset" by this development.
