Not being daft, but a regular dentist should have roughly the same kit a “Specialist” does surely?
So how does that work?

Needs a microscope to find where the third root begins which is specialist apparently.

To dig any further would put the whole tooth in jeopardy by maybe perforating it..

Its not as simple and straightforward as one might think as one of the canals can sometimes have a large single canal or two smaller canals. Until its opened up its impossible to tell which.

The specialist is called an endodontist. Only 3% of dentists go one to be an endodontist. Its all new to me too.

Well I am still in the wars, been weeks now, full prostrate checks, bloods done, consultant at the hospital this week and now I am going in for a colonoscopy, obviously could be something or nothing, but I been dealing with stomach issues for some time now. Not all of it felt like just food intolerances, hence why I have taken it to the professionals.
To say I have been bricking it is an understatement, but quality of life has severely been affected, so enough is enough.
I think I have chosen to post this now, this morning as yet again I want to get out and do stuff, but just feel shit!

As you say, something is not right. It is best to know and is likely solveable, so the right thing to do.

Could be stress related mate. If so, body is telling you to rest?

I hope they get to the cause of it quickly.

Riding season is here soon and we need you back on the cake.

Roger that lol.....I think it's letters you get from them when it has Cancer written all over it gets your worried. I know this is worst case and they need to do this to get you seen, but still adds to the whole situation.
I think of eating cake and all is right with the world lmao.....

Surprised they didn't start with an endoscopy, don't your stress + symptoms fit about right for a "simple" peptic ulcer mate.?

Hope they get to the bottom of it quick mate, and good on you for getting in and getting it sorted. I really regret letting my numbness get well out of hand before I took it further. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks mate, truth be known, I am a typical bloke, and have not moved on this as fast as i should have.. As for getting to the bottom, well thats a sore point ha ha

Ha ha, unfortunately I am fully versed in cameras up the hoo-haa as well. Dad had bowel cancer so I go in for one every 4 years and due to my ongoing stomach issues get an endoscopy at the same time. Actually due now but it all got pushed back due to my spine BS.

Dunno if you’ve had a colonoscopy before but I reckon the prep is the worse bit, procedure is a walk in the park, the intravenous sedative knocks me out completely.

Had all those sorts of tests more than a few years ago, Frankie. Hope you get sorted and quickly.

Mine was all down to stress causing anxiety and depression. It can do some unpleasant things to your health and it was only one single GP who eventually came to the right conclusion. Unfortunately so few GPs seem qualified to identify mental health problems.

So saw the Neurosurgeon today for my 6 week post op review.

The one question I forgot to ask was when I could ride again

Anyway, it’ll be a while. Everything looks good and she said it’s very rare to show any signs of fusion at this stage and reckons it’ll be quite evident at 6 months. She’s very happy with everything and is amazed that I’ve got a fair amount of feeling back already. Said it’s a good sign I could get close to full feeling back.

When I got released from hospital her idea was to have me back Offshore mid April. But today we had the discussion of what exactly I have to be capable of. So after explaining to her Turnout Gear and BA, Confined Space Rescues, helicopter escape, and freefall lifeboat launches from 20m, she has revised the plan. They won’t let me Offshore until I’m 100% fit to carry out all those tasks.

So now waiting till 3 month mark, get another MRI and XRay, review fusion and mobility and then possibly out to work mid June

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction with your recovery.

see the orange things in the bottom right? They are two 42 man lifeboats. Nose is at 14.5 metres and the rear is at 20m. That’s my actual platform.

I’m qualified to launch but in training we only launch 6 man lifeboats from about 7 metres. And that’s a big enough hit

That’s pretty much the exact same set up at the training facility we use. I have an onboard clip of one of my training launches, I’ll see if I can find it.
