Yep....sage advice from CM & DG, Cav.....all too easy to become dependent on those painkillers.
You want them to take the edge off, but not much more than that. They're not like illegal drugs or alcohol, when you know you're not supposed to overdo it....with PKs, well...the doctor gave them to you, so they must be OK, right??

I was a little spaced out on Tramadol, it stopped me sleeping though. I was told to take them before bed (amongst other times) and it left me feeling wired like I'd smashed a crate of Red Bull for supper!

On the flip side it gave me some supreme staying power, for the benefit of Mrs Itchy!

Tears aren't a good lube

But they're an excellent aphrodisiac

I find a nice spot of strawberry cheesecake is a good aphrodisiac and that's from some one who doesn't like cheese ;)

Nice recipe in the urban dictionary (nod)

Off the Zapain (30/500 Codeine/Paracetmol) for 5 days now and the migraines have gone - good riddance !!

On Tramadol now and no ill side effects with these so far, not at all spaced out or drowzy which means I should be fine to drive on these; although I'll see how it goes when I take the next lot. It's a lot better at dealing with the pain than the Zapain was too (Y)

Fwiw I suffer no ill effects from Tramadol either Cav, & have found it a very effective pain management for me.
However
Be aware that I only use it if I absolutely have to. I try to bear any discomfort as much as feasible before resorting to med's, especially Tramadol.
It is an opiate, & as such can easily lead to a desire to use it.
Not wanting to appear to be a prude Cav, but please be aware mate...

Not prude at all.. it's appreciated. I too try to avoid unnecessary use of any pain relief but with my knee it is a case of when and not if - the pain has had me in tears at times and is truthfully exhausting more often than not.

It's certainly better today than it has been for a while so I'm hoping I can avoid taking another dose but I do notice when the pain relief is wearing off and try to put the pain to the back of my mind

All this talk of drugs has gotten me very excited.
I think today I'll break my two years of sobriety and go out on a MASSIVE bender.

Thanks, Tankslap!!!

I'm well through my 3rd or 4th box of zapain now, same strength as cav and 6 tablets a day. That's also being supplemented with amatryptoline (or how ever it's spelt) at night. Apart from the pain relief I get no other reaction to the codein now. It's easy to see how addictions are formed.

Have an appointment with a specialist in a couple of weeks so can hopefully start to move forwards with diagnosing the actual problem.

It's great the way they pick up germs and share them.

I started a job just as both kids were starting nursery/school. My boss, never had a day off, thought it was my fault I was coming own with a cold once a month.

Guess who was constantly ill when his son started nursery?
