Christmas is about family.

I have had the wife in tears tonight for the same reason.

Take it easy, mate and draw on the memories of the good times with your mum..

Hugs mate. Not been an easy year for you.

Have a nice relaxed family day, that's how it should be.

Feel for you mate, I know how tough that can be.

Jess is going through the same, first Christmas without her dad. I was there to get her through the first birthday (they shared the same day) and fathers day, but unable to be there to help her through Christmas. last night she was not doing too good at all and there is only so much i can do from out here :(

I've come down with man flu. I've tested negative so it's not the Corona.

My Bamp (Dad's Dad) got taken into hospital yesterday morning with a suspected stroke. Thankfully it wasn't but he has been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. 10 pills a day and an eye patch to keep his eye shut for sleeping. I haven't seen him yet but will be in 2 days time after some rest.

Fwiw my mother currently has Cv19, I suspect it's the Omicron variant, and when it started it hit her throat first & (as a retired SRN) she thought she was getting tonsillitis.

On an aside, I'm down to my last five LFT and apparently there are no more at the moment. -So what happens next week, if they haven't sourced any & I can't do my daily test ??

I hope she recovers soon

Both me and Sarah have tested positive, 4 kids are ill and very moody but not positive yet. I've had a really nasty virus for two weeks so don't really feel any different.

My body had a complete meltdown over a small mountain bike ride.

Every bone in my body hurt, I could barely keep my eyes open, I couldn't eat or drink without feeling I was going to be sick, I couldn't walk up or down stairs, I could barely walk on the flat. I've slept well and feel a lot better, but this is very bizarre given I've done rides more than twice as long and tough.

Have you done a LFT recently Cav ?
Fwiw when one of my nephews (20's, plays Rugby for the local town, and does cage fights for the "easy money" ) had it, he claimed to be largely unaffected except for eliminating his energy & perseverance levels..

Good progress this week.

I've seen the doctor and finally got a diagnosis for my foot pain, planter facilitis. Got a referral for a steroid injection to hopefully kickstart the recovery process.

Also got an appointment with the physio about the shoulder and arm pain, which also causes pins and needles in my hand. He's fairly sure it's all nerve issues in my neck. The joys of some manipulations and some exercises to do. Does seem to be making a difference.

After 6 months of pain, hopefully the end is in sight.
