MV Agusta Rivale 800

While my taste for many bikes changes like the eb and flow of a twisting river my eyes always return to a select few.. this is one of them.

This is a bike which, to me, has a character unrivaled by any other manufacture. The savagely short wheel-base and the torquey triple engine coupled with a steep steering rake angle makes for a bike which is very much on it's nose - something I refer to as a necessity. It's a bit of a hoon-machine with an uncompromising seating position which forces you to ride like a Gorilla on a pitbike; all elbows and knees.

I have not ridden one but I sat on the bike at least 4 times during the day at Motorcycle Live... Sadly, it's one of those bikes which I am not sure if I will ever ride - some say you should never meet your heroes, maybe this is mine.

It's a bit generic. Let's pick a few things we like and stick them together. To be frank, the limited z1000 for 2016 looks better

Having seen both bikes in the flesh a couple of weekends ago, no it doesn't.

Subjective, I realise. But you're wrong. ;)

I like that they've just said, "f*ck everyone's conventions, we're doing what we want!"

Basically a supermoto with superbike performance...

If only the Chassis and handling were done by Triumph, the engine done by Aprilia (V4) and the Styling by MV Agusta then I believe it would be the perfect bike. Oh, and the build quality of a Honda, Kawasaki or Yamaha

I get what you mean with the MT10.. again, it's a bike that sticks the proverbial up to convention.

A few bikes have done that... BMW S1000RR with the wonky headlights, Kawasaki with the H1 triple, Kawasaki with the H2 supercharger...

I will never accept wonky lights. Far too OCD for that.

The MT10 looks like it was designed by someone who used to masturbate to the Transformer cartoons.

And all divisive, opinion splitting machines... :D

I remember seeing the H2(R) at the MCN last year, surrounded by loads of sniffy, overweight old blokes going "well, it doesn't look like a proper bike, does it?" (lol)

Well, **** off to the Royal Enfield stand, then. Let those as like it see it!

I had an FZ1 as a loaner last year for about 10 days and I LOVED it. Never had a nekkid streety before. Was fan-bloody-tastic.

And the MT is similar, with a detuned 2015 crossplane engine, instead of a 2006 screamer. Wow. I bet it's awesome to ride.

I saw a mock up with an FZ1 headlight replacing the slightly odd spots, and in customer colours and it looked amazing...

I want a nekkid street hooligan bike, dammit.

Haha.. my mate has one in Matt grey - mint looking bike!

My gf saw it from the side first and said how nice it was, then saw the other side and said "why are their gills on one side and a hole on the other"... then she saw the headlights... :D She announced there and then that I can never own that bike !!!

I seriously was considering trading my ZX6R in for an Aprilia Tuono V4R... that to me was the ultimate street naked bike

As opposed to the Z1000, whose major selling point is being green. (lol)

Old Z1000s, yeah. The brand new 2016 one, obviously not. Nor the as-yet-unreleased MT10, shockingly.

But I've ridden the Yamaha CP4 engine and I know what it does compared to a standard IL4. ;)

Of course, I was talking about on looks. One of those bikes I like the look of FAR more than the other. Sorry if that was hard to follow.
