Kawasaki Birmingham - a postive post

Post by Kwacky »

I got home last night and gave the bike a check over (Blade must be having an influence on me).

The service has been done and I can't see that he's missed anything. The bike feels nice and tight again, the chain isn't on too tight (an issue I've had in the past from a dealer) and the oil level is spot on. New brake fluid as well. The bike hasn't been washed (not part of the service) but it's not looked like someone with oily hands has worked on it. I gave the bike a clean before it went in and it's come back in the same condition.

They charge £50 an hour which isn't the cheapest, but Mike now charges £45 and you don't get a courtesy bike with that. On top of the service I got a chain and sprocket kit supplied and fitted and he fitted my crash bungs for me while had the fairings off.

I know official dealers can get a lot of stick for being interested in sales only and having crap mechs but the bloke at Kawasaki Birmingham who does the work is a nice guy and he knows his stuff. He always makes sure he comes out and has a chat with me about what he's done and anything I need to look out for. The guys who work there are all into their bikes and really friendly.

Good to hear about both my influence ;) and the quality of the work and service.

Which chain and sprockets did they go with in the end.

I think you got a very good and fair deal there (y)

It's good when you pay a lot of money to get work done somewhere and you are truthfully happy and content with what they did - it doesn't happen often.

I too am interested in the chain they went with - I love the DID XW ;)

DID VMX gold chain and JT Sprockets. I've looked online and that DID chain is the better one they supply. No idea about JT Sprockets. They told me they're the same standard as the OEM sprockets.

Sounds good Kwacky. A dealer like that is good to know. Obviously interested in quality rather than saving a few quid on selling a lower spec chain.

Sounds great Kwacky. Always nice to hear a good review and not just the bad ones. I think in modern life we tend to look for bad reviews before looking for good ones which is a shame.
