2016 Trackdays

Post by Kwacky »

Cav, I've been chatting with No Limits on twitter. I'll post up their dates once they release them.

Hopefully we'll get a date sorted next year and a few of us will attend, rather than having D6Nutz on his own on a rain swept Mallory track.

Nobody wants that now do they!

Yeah sure, lets try and sort something. I'll liase with my 4 or 5 buddies and try get them along too. Oulton, Donington, Snetterton and possibly Silverstone are on the list of tracks for me next year. I think my mates want to do their first one at Pembrey (my mate who crashed and broke his leg on his first trackday there wants to face his demons before going to another track) which I may or may not go to. After that it will be a case of whichever date or price is most appealing..

Hmmmmmm.. trackdays !!

I'm hoping to do 4 and I REALLY want to do Oulton. I also want to do Donington again but with a new set of Supercorsa SC1 V2 tyres so I can try for a 1.37. Gunning for a 1.39 on worn tyres

I would consider Cadwell too but it's soooo far away from me

Aha.. most people could acheive a sub 2 minute lap and I think that the majority of all trackday riders could get a 1.50. All it would take is a little tuition and an injection of confidence :P

I did the chrono there last year with Perkles. I think I was around the 1'52 mark. I'm ok from Hollywood to McLeans. I hate the GP loop. I'm nervous at Redgate as I've crashed there.

That's not bad at all.. that's middle to front of Inters, right?

I love Redgate, so fast on entry with some real nice markers to gauge from. What's Hollywood? Is that the hairpin? If so I do like that bit because you short shift to 5th and keep it pinned until trail braking through the last left and flicking it to the right.

The GP Loop is pointless, if they could make the melbourne hairpin into a sweeper that would be awesome, a smaller version of Gerards at Mallory....

I also love keeping it pinned down Craner then rolling off for the transition left and pinning the throttle to the hairpin.

I quite like Donny if you didn't realise !! Haha

Middle paced inters on that day. There were only 3 of us on road bikes in that group.

Hollywood is after Redgate, before Craner.

My favourite part is coming out of the old hairpin, hanging off to the left and going for it all the way to McLeans. I'm more comfortable on my left.

It's so much fun! I love that feeling when you're pinned going through there, the back stays inline with the front and there's something strangely rebellious about it! aha

It's definitely a respectable time 1.52.. the people I went with on that day had done loads of them and one got a 1.52 and the other a 1.54

I'd agree that's pretty much my favourite part.. I love Redgate - McLeans and the chicane after the back straight. I'm not fussed about the other 3 corners

Right, new topic created, sorry for moving the posts about.

I'm really hit and miss on track days. I have to be in the mood, which is a pain because you book so far in advance.

I really want to do another, but my schedules are so messed up at the moment (house move and wife preggers) I'm finding it difficult to plan anything.

I was thinking of a last minute dash to Mallory one day to get back into the swing of riding fast. But would like to do another trackday with a group of people. IT's always good fun

Going with a group is great, getting a few bevvys down you and some great food is all part of it for me. Discussing your experiences with anything, bike related or otherwise. It's team building and morale boosting.

Kwacky, the furthest I have booked in advance is 2 weeks... I've only missed out on one trackday I wanted to do so far

Trying to book holiday is a nightmare for me at work and next year will be worse as someone in the team has been given 5 extra days as a reward for doing 10 years here.

But a group day is a laugh, especially if you can hang out afterwards and have a few beers.

I'm hoping to do a few UK days, but in also angling for another trip to Spain. If that comes off then funds for UK days will be limited.

Lol.. I didn't drag knee down craners.. Only redgate, old hairpin, mcleans and melbourne. I occasionally got it at goddards but only if I poked my knee out for it
