Defo wont be getting pushed about me and my missed defo have our own heads! Screw having a 200k wedding thats ridiculous!! It will only be family who attends and a small number of friends.C00kiemonster wrote:Take this in the spirit it is intended in, but don't make the mistake of doing what anyone other than you two want to do.Rossgo wrote:Nothing and by the sounds of it i wont be for years to come
So me and my misses have been looking at weddings. Me and my misses orinally wanted a beach set wedding far away in the sun or something and when you look at weddings aboard you basically get the honeymoon and wedding in one for a nice price. My misses mum refuses to fly because of whatever reason so now we are looking at weddings in the UK. £8K seems to be the cheapest we can find on the date we would like and we are being tight with our money
Well the next best option is to do it all down the pub with the chavs for a few hundred quid, pints and pork scratchings!! How can a DJ charge a grand for being able to press play on a CD player

It quickly becomes a committee with parents, grandparents and other family and friends saying what to do and where to have it and depending on who your family is it becomes expected to be in a nice venue because other people had it here and you end up spending a fortune (and i mean a fortune).
Thats what happened to my first marriage, which ended 1 year later after spending a fortune on the day. Tbh i dont remember much of it either as it goes quickly and everyone wants a bit of you.
Now i'm not saying that will happen to you and i sincerely think it wont, but myself and the current Mrs C00kiemonster got married with 2 witnesses at a registry office and a nice meal afterwards and then a party at our house the following day for anyone who could be arsed to attend. We had a great time and plenty of change from £500.
I went to a wedding last year in which my sister in law got married. Massive venues (the Beckhams got married there apparently), 600 guests, 3 days of eating, drinking and consuming and they even shipped in the chefs from India. Cost - way over £200k. It wasn't very good and wasn't very personal at all and was just an excercise in ticking boxes on a list. Money doesnt make a good party - effort and elements personal to you guys do.
Its your special day and everyone (and i mean everyone) should respect that. Be creative and make it yours, you wont regret it.
No worries Kwacky. It wasnt suppose to go on that much to be honest mateKwacky wrote:I don't want to be a moody admin type but can you stick your wedding stuff in another thread please?
