At the risk of being patronising Rossgo, & I'm aware that you are a skilled & IAM trained rider,,, but.. : Because the weather is a little fickle currently , perhaps pay special attention to surfaces. The 1k sportsbikes I have ridden in the past have all spun up at the smallest flick of a wrist. It's fun once you've accustomed yourself to the raw power, but can catch you out when you've been used to the "sensibly insane" power of a middleweight IMO.
Nope not at all mate I fully welcome everyone's view. I have already confirmed with the dealer that if weather is bad or greasy etc can I get out of it and they said Yes!! I will not be pushing myself to have to get my leg over if I don't feel it I won't be doing it! The last thing I want to do is feel uncomfortable for whatever reason. I thankyou for your comment mate to be honest

Enjoy the ride Rossgo.

There not intimidating mate. The throttle goes both ways and there not the grunt monsters of 10 years ago as although more powerful it's spread over a wider rev range and the power is often reduced in lower gears. Plus there wrapped up in a lovely traction control comfort blanket these days (lol)

That said hold, them full throttle past 8000rpm to the redline and you will be laughing and shitting your pants in equal proportion. A definitive must do on any litre test ride.

Have fun and make the most of it

Naked window lady was back. A flash of backside as I turned right. Happy days.

I needed cheering up, what a horrible morning.

The roads were still wet this morning, so the bike is covered in road crap. I'll have to wash it before the service on Saturday.

Fitted the new Motobatt battery last night.

Had to remove a metal cross bar to fit it in, it was rather snug.

And it still hasn't sorted my phone/sat-nav charging issue, so maybe there's a fault in that system rather than the battery.

It fired up first time though, and I got to fill the garage up with that glorious glorious smell of internal combustion!

Unfortunately yes!

This is what I've got...

http://www.ultimateaddons.com/Cases/Wat ... nd_S6_Edge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's wired up underneath the seat, and the power on button is underneath the pillion seat so that the charger isn't constantly draining the battery. But when I press the button there's nothing, no light, no charge going through to the phone, nothing.
I've checked the fuse, it seems okay.
Maybe the wire's had it.

This has happened a couple of times with myself when I've linked up a wore to the battery, double check that the word hasn't laid onto of the frame or anything that gets hot. I've had to use a plastic cover over my wire from.the battery so it can be routed pretty much anywhere without damaging the wire

are you any good with a soldering wire and have a multi meter or a circuit tester ?? just recently wired mine into the bike used a relay so not to over load any of the bikes circuit and an ignition feed to the relay so it only works when the ignition is on.

You could test what you have by testing it with a multi meter or circuit tester but I'm guessing its the switch unless the wires caught some were.

If you want any help on either just post up or send me a message

I took the long way home to scrub in the Z8s, but it started raining.

Oh well, the chicken strips don't look at bad as they did this morning.

I'm about as good with electrics as I am with West Yorkshire hairpins, my friend!

I'll have a look at the weekend. If it's nothing visible I can take the wire into work, I know there are some multi meters in there.

If it has been touching the frame or something is it likely to be f**ked?

I feel a bit ashamed of my chicken strips still at the mo, had none on my honda or my stripple, but although my confidence is coming back, its not there wnough to have got rid of these yet, hopefully before the summer runs out
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Fitted the battery yesterday so it would be rude not to give it a test...

Okay, so I'd already fired it up and knew it worked, but my neighbour who's just got a Z1000SX was going for a ride up to The Raven cafe so it was a good chance/excuse to get out on the bike, blow away the cobwebs and chill out.

I can't believe I've lived here for nearly 2 years and haven't popped by yet. There were about 20 bikes when we arrived, at least 60 by the time we left.
I haven't been to a bike meet big or small for absolutely ages, I'd forgotten what it was like. I thought I was only interested in riding.

But seeing all different kinds of steeds on display, from blood bikes to Panigales to a custom F6C Valkyrie (which looked pretty badass), I honestly felt like a kid in a candy store.

Add an all day breakfast + a bowl of chips and I'm a happy bunny!
