Had a big weekend in the city and now on my way to the airport to head to work. Have to sit in Darwin for 2 days to get PCR testing done prior to going offshore so going to catch up on all the sleep I’ve not had :D

She's got to wait for a scan so they can assess it.

She can't walk on it or fully straighten her leg.

Can she weight bear at all? I'd hope, for all your sakes, it isn't ruptured. A tear will repair itself (although laser and acupuncture treatment helped me massively in the short term pain management) but a rupture will not.

Fingers crossed for you all and it will be 12 weeks minimum before it feels remotely normal. Sorry for the bad news.

I've dropped my wife off for an MRI. I've had to leave her there because I'm working. She will get a taxi back.

Going round to my dad's this evening with my son for a film and food.

So… in a case of careful what you wish for and my continuing car crash of a life…..

Wednesday morning, up at 3.45 to be across at the airport at 4.30am to fly to Timor. Almost out the door and Jess messages… she had just done a RAT after waking up with practically every COVID symptom and is positive.

So guess who’s isolating as a close contact in the Darwin airport hotel once again (facepalm)

Work got me another PCR test which was negative and if I don’t develop symptoms are considering flying me out Saturday.

It’s hit Jess really hard. I organised a friend to make her up some meals and drop them off so she doesn’t have to prepared food for a few days.

Her symptoms started Monday, day I left, but she thought she was just worn out from the weekend. Tuesday she started getting the throat and was that fatigued she skipped dinner and fell asleep. She had a rough night and tested early in the morning. So I was definitely around her while she was infectious, but so far I’ve dodged it once again

Fingers crossed for you both...

No, because she was on placement her kids went to their dads when I was due to come to work, even though I ended up home for another week. So they’ve been away well prior to her testing positive.

Thanks for all the good wishes, she’s had a pretty hard couple of days but seemed to be doing a bit better tonight. By better I mean she could stay awake for more than an hour at a go.

Numerous trees and outdoor furniture is flying around the place at work. Sounds like our roof will take off soon and it has made the leaking worse.

Still... it's actually a rather lovely day today.

Fresh trim
Gym
Shopping
Work

Then I might see if Mrs K is mobile enough to go to a local bar for a pint and a bite to eat.
