Had a fish finger sandwich for Good Friday dinner. I had nailed nearly half litre of gin by that time and it was all I could be bothered cooking.

Smoked salmon and creamy scrambled eggs for breakfast, but unlike Kwacky I was a lazy tart and had it handed to me.

We've got some beef mince left in the fridge so its homemade burgers tonight.

went for a Mexican. Standard burrito with an orange and chocloate sponge.

They serve Brewdog IPA though so I was happy.

Very rare roast beef, with all the bits and pieces, now drinking a cafetière of coffee and eating some of my dark chocolate Easter Egg.

Mrs Gee has just made some Bara Brith for later on.....

Had a Sunday roast today. Duck and gammon were on the menu. the duck was supposed to serve 3-4. I reckon I could've tackled it myself. It was nice, but having the gammon as a back up was a good idea.

I've been away eating lots of lovely food with my Belgian & French friends.
Far too much variation to cover here, and my descriptions & pictures would do the quality no justice. However it did include my first ever Oysters.
Chef simply stood with a cauldron of them along side him. We shuffled along in an orderly queue with our plates. When it was my turn he asked how many, I said one.! (sweat)
Everyone else seemed to be getting plates full. I think Chef was rather taken aback. :S
He deftly applied his knife skills, splashed a little (marinade?? ) & presented me with a pair of them.

Ummm,,,"Interesting",,,,,, but I'm not a convert..... :S

I don't get the whole shell food thing. As a diver in NZ I have brought back plenty from dives but it all got given away. I used to swap crayfish (lobster) with the neighbour for fresh venison. Now that's food!!

Same here, barring whelks and jellied eels I'll eat almost anything that lives in the sea.

I love fish and I have enjoyed scallops fried in butter, but the whole having to add a sauce or condiment to it for it to taste any good I find pointless. I'll eat oysters killpatrick but I'm not fussed by them.

In contrast my Dad can live on the stuff. He came to visit me when I was still in NZ for his 50th, ate 5 crayfish and drank a 40 oz of rum, and then buggered off the next day. Honestly ate nothing else! One was a 4 pounder I'd been keeping for his birthday.

I almost have to give back my Kiwi card not being fond of seafood.

To be fair I love seafood too, especially when it's fresh.
However I think it was the fact that these Oysters were alive as they slipped down my gullet was my personal challenge.
Besides all the other food was prepared so as to be tasted & enjoyed, so just swallowing something seemed a waste of space in my (gastronomically overstressed) stomach.
I just "fell back" on the; Fillet of Boeuf en Croute, or Lobster, or Veal Scallopini, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc............... (blush)

Diet time now.. (nod)
