Help?

Post by R1ckster »

Hi chaps does anyone know how much of the front forks should be sticking out the top of the top clamps on a 2008 Kawasaki ER6F (650cc) ABS model?

I need to check if the forks have been messed with as I am now removing a wilbers rear suspension (low.. Very fking low.. I have a 29 inseam and flat footing it and still have a bent leg!) so curious to know if the forks have been pushed through as well

Cheers
Ric

It's normally a couple of mm on most bikes I have owned. Some actually have a little retaining ring stopping you lowering more than a few mm.

If you can't get a manual I would have them set protruding by 2 to 5 mm.

Nice one thanks matey.. They're about 25mm through which made me think hmmmm... On top of the fact the rear shock is so low there is no way you could have ignored the front and keep a safe geometry

Look at some photos of other standard bikes I m confident it will only be 2 or 5 mm and certainly no where near 25mm.

25mm is too low. They've been dropped.

That looks like a max of 10mm to me if that's the right model. It says 05-08

The bike with the more modern dash is this one:-

Help?

Post by R1ckster »

Ah yes I've found tonight some photos that show the tops flush with the clamps! And in addition to my disappointment I found an old invoice with a part number that refer to a wilbers 50mm yes 50mm lowered fork springs kit (as well as fork legs pushed up 25mm)!! So now looking to fork out on oem :(

Thanks for help

Tell her to get a ninja 300. I can track it when she gets bored.
