Rgv250
I want one I have been on about buying a 2 stroke 250 for a while . I used to have a rs250 Track bike years ago I hardly rode it and pretty much sold it without putting 20 miles on it. I would love to have another go on one but they are going for really silly money. The rgv seems the more sensible option but am i living in a daydream land were things used to be better than they were or should i step up and smell the 2 stroke oil.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

Re: Rgv250
I love the idea of a 2-stroke, but I worry how will it will cope with my more than amble frame these days. I'm a lot heavier than I was last time I rode a TZR250. I also know I am a lot lazier, more so since riding a twin, so probably wouldn't enjoy constantly having to rag the balls of it to get anywhere.
The biggest thing that puts me off is the fragility of the engines. It doesn't take much to pop one, and a rebuild costs..
I still love the idea though, brings out the kid in me.... zingggggggggg, ngngngngngngg, zinnnggggggm ngngngng......

Re: Rgv250
im with you on this. im bigger than i was in my teens/twenties, and the maintenance/fragility is something i cant be bothered with. i think i'll just remember them from my good/great younger days and now take pleasure in watching others out on them.D6Nutz wrote:I love the idea of a 2-stroke, but I worry how will it will cope with my more than amble frame these days. Re: Rgv250
I want one too Rocket. I had an RZ250 in my youth and had 3 different 2 stroke off-road bikes. I'm with Blade, if you can afford it as an addition, do it!
P.S. I'm still the same weight I was 20 yrs ago

Re: Rgv250
Well I am while I'm on an enforced alcohol break and sweating my arse off while dealing with endless stairs and tropical heat offshore at work. During my break I may add a few kgs on occasion and have to burn them all off again next time I come out! I'm not a big beer drinker and keep pretty active and always have had physically demanding jobs, so it's more good luck and genetics than good management thats kept me at this weight.Tricky wrote:kiwikrasher wrote: P.S. Re: Rgv250
Always wanted an RS250 and I think Stan Stephens does a 350 road conversion which is supposed to be extremely reliable. Not sure if it's still avialable but would be an amazing project machine.
