I wonder if they will offer 2 models, like Yamaha do with the R1?

Interesting idea Kwacky, you should be in Kawasaki Marketing Department (lol) . Would be very good if they do and I guess they already have with the h2 and h2r.

Fingers crossed as sounds a great idea imo (y)

I saw a new r1 on the road near me. Looked smart but was in a 30mph limit so never got a good listen

so its going to have the H2 styling ,sounds interesting http://www.morebikes.co.uk/scoop-2016-k ... -in-japan/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
its going to have to have a QS and active suspension to make me want to trade in mine

That looks smart.

I think a QS is a given.

What are the WSB and BSB rules about suspension?

Imagine a zx6r looking like that with a turbine in it. Oh my.

you can change the suspension but cant change the engine rods or pistons, thats why road bikes are becoming more powerful. They need to be almost as powerful in stock trim as a wsb bike otherwise they would be uncompetitive

Hard to tell in those shots but looks a mild cosmetic upgrade to me as quite a lot of current model components and features are retained.

That's no bad thing as I think the current bike looks good. Prove will be when we all see it at the shows but I don't like the H2 style front in those pictures but being fair it's not a great shot.

Updated electronics , dft dash and qs would seem obvious upgrades as would the latest version of bosh race abs.

I would also expect more power or the ability to extract more power within currently wsbk regs as this has been a clearly stated request from the kawasaki racing department with the introduction of more limited tuning on 2015 bikes this year. It's exactly what yamaha and APrilla have done with their road bikes.

Semi active suspension would be very nice as it's the obvious future for sportsbike and the best addition on my bike by far however it will add significant cost to the rrp if they retain Ohlins who have partnered them so far and been the oem kawasaki steering damper supplier for over 10 years.

Exiting times ahead and looking foward to the nec show already.

The H2R looks are a bit Marmite, but I reckon Kwak will want to build on the back of that project so I guess we'll start seeing bits from the H2 on their road bikes.

It'll have to kick out 200+bhp to compete with the other litre bikes. Again, from the H2R project we know that Kawasaki have the right electronic packages to deal with high power output so I'm guessing it won't need too much development to put a similar electronics set up in the 10r.

I doubt they will have problems extracting 200bhp ,they are way over that in wsb running standard internals

The challenge will be getting 200 bhp AND meeting the 2017 more stringent emissions regs Euro5 compliant or whichever version there currently on.

Well according to this scoop it will meet Euro 4 and all the others afterwards as the new ZX10 will be electric.
