If it wasn't so far away I'd go for a nosey!

EDIT: if the price doesn't climb too high I might just buy it unseen.. it's just too cool to pass up!

So just to give you a bit of an idea about this bike, it's made from a CT110 which looks like this

known in Aus and NZ as a 'postie' bike, as it is standard issue for the postal service and until very recently the only way you could get one was to buy an ex Auspost bike.

I really think this is a awesome conversion, I've been scouring the net for similar bikes and I haven't found one I like better. The more I think about it the more I want it! I don't even want to think about what I'm going to cop if I do... |(

Main problem is it's 900 km away!

Anyways, for those that haven't clicked the link, here's what it looks like

comfortably do 80 kmph, but will top just over 100..

fuel economy is 1.6L/100 km highway, 2.5L/100 km city. It normal has a 4.6 L tank but that one has CB100 tank so a massive 7.5 litres!! :D

That really does look "old skool"; from back in the day when bikes handled like they had a hinge in the middle.!

No originality, no performance & no handling..... : sorry Kiwi, but it's a no from me.

I'm torn.

It brings up the Show vs Go thread. I like the look of it but even I would struggle to get excited about a 60mph top speed.

I wouldn't even think about if it was an only bike, but as a cheap punt down the shops or the like, I reckon it'd be fun.

It's a clutchless four speed, and there is heaps of mods available off the shelve, lumpy cams, ported heads, over size pistons etc.

They have a bit of a cult following here in Oz.

If it goes over $1000 I won't bother.

Do you have to grow a beard and go full hipster to own one?

I can't grow a beard for two reasons.. It would take me about 2 yrs and still look terrible.. And I have to be clean shaven at work as I'm on the emergency rescue team and need to wear BA.

But I am considering an open face helmet and aviators (lol)

A purchase probably won't happen, the trip to pick it up would be logistically difficult at the moment. But if it was closer I'd get it for the novelty even if just for 6 months till I got bored with it. I used to race similar bikes (albeit a bit quicker, 125cc) in my youth so it grabs me in a weird sort of way.

I guess I should really put the effort into getting the triumph painted and back on the road (facepalm)

My mate dave russell (the stunt rider) has one with a bussa front fairing and duct tail attached. He seized it on the way home from a group ride along the Great Ocean Rd.

It's a 'for shits n giggles' thing.

Also seen them doing track days at Phillip island!

The current $1,675 bid on it and all the other bidders which got it to that price.

I should start knocking them out yourself at that Kk, must be plenty of profit.

If you want something nostalgic yet quirky, I think you would be far better too be looking at a Mighty Maggot converted to a cafe racer style IMHO.
