My next rocket ship

Im on the look out for my next bike just pondering at the moment as I'm still waiting for the insurance to go through. I will loose my no claims and this means that insurance is going to be a problem next year so a 1000 out of the question.

Ive done quick insurance comparison and got a bit of a short list in my head

Gsxr750
Ducati 848
Cbr600rr

Anyone got any suggestions, different bikes I should consider, pros or cons about the above bikes. I will have about 5000 to play with hopefully. I would like to test ride at least the above before I buy but getting test rides on second hand bikes is not easy anyone know any decent dealers that allow test rides ???

Ducati 848 sounds very interesting.

Cbr600rr great bike but really needs working hard in my experience.

gsxr 750 is a brilliant all rounder and very quick bike,cheap to run as well

675 is a good shout.

If you're getting the zx6r go for the newe 2009+ models. The R series is more of a loon and probably better on the track than the newer 636.

CBR600rr is a great bike and I loved mine but it isn't the most exciting of rides.

How does the 675 compare to the other 600's I'm not to keen on the styling.
Only going on magazine reviews on bikes so would like some real word experience.
They seem to suggest the cbr 600 post 07 is a very good bike but if it's boring I'll give it a miss.
848 is but of a curve ball I don't know if I would get on with after not really engaging with the rsv. But looking at the cost its lot of bike for the money.
Gsxr750 seem to be quite expensive for what they are.

Maybe boring is the wrong word, as it's a very capable 600, but it's not engaging like the kwak or the 675.

The daytona is a slim so sit on one first. You might not like it. Otherwise it's a great handling bike and the triple engine gives a kick lower down.

What about a big super naked like a Tuono or Superduke ? They are similar insurance to a 600 and definitely much cheaper than a litre sportsbike.

Tuono v4 I test rode last year is proper bonkers and real fun to ride, you would love it Rocket.

I test rode a 675 when they first came out. I had a 954 Blade at the time and in 3rd and 4th gear on local twisites i wouldn't say there was much difference. Had it for a full day and loved it, the handling was amazing, it felt tiny like a 250 and just leant and leant forever. Great bike and definitely worth a test ride.

675 is an amazing bike loved it very much and did a fair few miles on it. Problem is trying to insure with claims. I got insurance quotes of around a grand for TPFT after loosing NCB however this will differ on location and where it's parked and age etc so that price could of just been for me.

ZX6R was bonkers lovely and comfortable and can ride well within its sweet spots.

750 I loved how small and bible it felt between my legs and the sound was incredible, will have to pick one up later in my life totally different to everything else. Does the thou have a similar sound to the 750 rocket? But again insurance was ridiculous for me when getting quotes

600rr. Capable well engineered bike. Doesn't feel Boring when giving it some in the higher rev range, but does feel like they could of given it more, but it's very reliable, typical Honda I guess!! And what got me was the insurance was the cheapest quote out.of all the bikes. It was a no brainer really as money was tight!

Went and sat on a gsxr 750 today was surprised how much smaller it felt than the 1000. Nice slim tank , felt compact but also a little cramped. Asked about a test ride "yes if i am going to buy it" ...............

my gsxr 750 was one of the best bikes ive owned,it handled lovely and never felt under powered.The induction noise was incredible

no local robbing dealer SMC would not buy anything from them they are very poor.

but it was close and wanted to have a look round one.
