Guy Martin and Triumph are teaming up to see if they can break the land speed record

And what better way than a Brit on a British-made motorcycle? Martin, who raced in America last year during the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, is slated to compete at Bonneville Speedway aboard the Triumph Rocket Streamliner, which is powered by two 2.3-liter Rocket III engines and produces 1000 horsepower.

During this year’s FIM Bonneville Speed Trials that occur August 24-27, Martin will attempt to bring back the land speed record to Triumph after an absence of 45 years.

Toseland was talking about something last year but I've not seen or heard anything since.

Toseland dropped out of his run I think. I had a long chat with a guy at the Autosport show in January and he reckoned the Toseland effort was on something built over 20 years ago and there was little chance of them achieving it.

did they also say that another reason he dropped out was because of fears of deformed botox and smudged make-up?

I wish Guy well and will enjoy watching his adventure I m sure.

But I can't help think he moans about all the attention he gets but then he contiunes to fuel it by doing stuff like the above. Don't get me wrong I m glad he is doing the above and I like him as a character just wish he would stop moaning about being popular.

Triumph confirms the decision to postpone record attempt following Guy Martin's serious injury

Guy Martin's attempt to smash the Land Speed Record on a Triumph has been pushed back to next year following his high-speed crash last week at the Ulster Grand Prix last week.

The crash, which saw the talented racer and TV presenter sustain multiple injuries including a broken vertebrae, has placed Martin out of action much to his despair. He is not expected to hit the asphalt again until next year.
