I'll buy you a pint of beer, so you can cry into it :)

I got raped by the insurers with the SX. The buggers seem to think they can take the piss.

That's taking the piss.

Carole Nash did me the best deal by a long way. Good customer service in my experience, which counts for a lot.

That's pretty much exactly the same as what I have done, good mods all made a significant improvement (y)

It makes me sick how they can get away with ripping us off with changing like this, I have had it and it really makes me mad. What the hell is the ombudsman (spelling unsure) there for when they just don't do anything ? Rant over.

On the bike - nice one :) happy days and long summer rides

Perks I think in another post you mentioned you liked the stock exhaust although in another thread you mentioned you wanted an end can.

Just had an idea thats the best of both worlds and thought you might like.

The stock exhaust is pretty light and pretty much straight through design so very similar to a race can. If you removed the ugly, heavy cat where all the restrictions are you would have virtually a full system as the stock headers are full titanium large bore items.

A link pipe will cost you about £80, save about 5 kg, make the bike sound and look amazing.

These people are very good quality and price.

http://www.quillexhausts.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They also do custom work to your design but I'm sure they will have previously done a system and link pipe for a popular bike like the ten.

As they do custom work if you wanted you could ask them to weld a threaded boss onto the link pipe so you could still mount the OEM Kawasaki heat shield.

Hope the idea is of some use of not just tell me to shut the front door ;)

Won't you need to change the fuelling if you remove the cat?

Apparently not. I haven't on mine and done a lot of research with knowledgeable people not just so callwd forum experts.

Its not hesitating or stuttering at lower rpm, got no back fires on decel from high rev's, throttle is smooth, engine temp is not high, exhaust tip is light brown. so personally speaking no signs at all of running lean.

Granted I'm sure a custom map would improve things, slightly but in my personal experience I have not encountered any problems.

For info I have spoke with Kawasaki Bournemouth (race the bike at TT), arrow exhausts, race fit, austin racing (both much more agressive systems than my set up with very low back pressures compared to mine) and an independent dyno tuner.

All said my set up will be OK.

It wasn't a dig, it was a genuine question.

I looked at doing the same on the zx6r but it was more than simply swapping the cat for a link pipe. But mine's an older bike and it's a 600.

I know its not a dig mate never thought it was and my answer isn't one back. Just explaining my research.

By forum experts I meant people who give you actual technical advise based on thin air rather than fact.

Tbh in the closed loop section of the fuel range the OEM ECU still has control anyway and targets an AFR of 14.7/1.

You can take control of the closed loop with an ECU reflash (be careful with these) or fitting an o2 optimiser but even Dynojet uk don't recommend one on a road bike / occasional TD bike.

blade im now a bit confused have you removed your cat or not ? if so please post a link of the system you went for ,by the way i hate noisy exhausts
I bought a custom can for my ktm and i hated the racket it made so went back to the big heavy standard exhaust complete with cat.IMO Kwackys can on his 600 sounds perfect to me ,you can hear it scream but its not to loud

8 more sleeps till pick up day :(
