A police outrider for Prince Harry ends up in the side of a car.

Looks nasty. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt.

Looking at the CCTV, my first impression is the car pulled out when they should have waited. An all too familiar tale I am sorry to say.

The car chanced it. But look far across the road the car is when they hit.

Bikes fault 100% in my opinion.

Looking at the CCTV, i think I agree. I don't think the car driver would be able to see the rider on the wrong side of the road behind a car travelling in same direction.

I agree with that, but the car pulled out without due care and attention. A) they took a chance to get out quick B) They obviously could not see all of the road where they were actually going to.

There's a car in the left lane, to the driver's right. I wonder if that car stopped the copper rode round it thinking it had stopped for him and not to let the other vehicle out?

More motor unit guys crash as a result of doing escorts than just about anything else. Dangerous stuff

Was chatting to a mate on Sunday who is bike traffic copper in the Met, he agrees (and so do the met it seems) that it was the riders fault. He now has points on his license. If he wasn't on the other side of the road he would not be to blame but he shouldn't have out himself there!!

Oh Well, Just as well that I am not a copper, or make the laws... He may have been on the wrong side of the road, but he was escorting, and I still think the car took a chance on pulling out, when they should have waited.
