Re: Textile trousers

Post by R1ckster »

Well after years of mile munching all year round and sick of the various types of ways to keep dry.., leathers with good lined over suits or decent textiles... None of them have really stood up to hours solid riding in heavy torrential rain........ Until this year finally treated myself to Rukka jacket and trousers.. Got fed up with wet crotch... All I can say everything you hear is true... I ridden in storms solid hours on end plus wind blasted.... And got home Bone dry.... No joke... But they not cheap. However guaranteed for 5 years. I wouldn't waste money again on anything less...best save and buy Rukka

The only weakness of getting wet in my experience with my model jacket is down to the fact that despite having neoprene neck seals... My helmet will eventually drench up the rain and trickle down neck. But this is no fault of the suit... More riding position, helmet and how heavy the rain is and how long.... But yes Rukka without hesitation

Crashed at the Ring too...still no leaks..

That's about 10 years out of date. It lists a Birmiingham place that closed down years ago,

Thanks anyway.

If you want it to be totally waterproof and stay waterproof then you need it to have gore-tex. Unfortunately they tend to be more expensive. I bought a cheap rst 2 piece textile suit and as soon as it rains you just get wet!

You could try here, Kwacky.

Says you need to ring for availability first though.

Do you guys get RJays gear over there?

It's an Aussie brand, it's priced well but they make good quality gear. Many view it as cheap but I reckon it's under rated. It's by no means alpinestar level but I've had a bit of their gear and I've been impressed. Their two piece wet weather kit kicks arse over the Dririder kit I first bought.

When I was commuting in winter I wore this with matching trou

http://www.mcas.com.au/motorcycle-speci ... Path=4761&

Very toasty and warm, never had a torrentially downpour to deal with (generally drier here in winter) but never got wet in the rain I did encounter. I had rides to work that were -2 deg C and this stuff was brilliant. Never crashed in it (surprisingly enough :) so yet to discover that side of it.

I've finally got round to ordering some trousers. I was holding off until I went to the NEC bike show but I can't make it the first weekend and I doubt there will be anything left in the second weekend.

These are the ones I've bought in black and yellow:-

They're expensive but the quality is there and I know I'll get my use out of them.

Great.

So after a week I hadn't received them. I sent an email. They replied telling me they are no longer available. They were when I ordered them, but they're not now.

Shit customer service from FC-Moto.

I thought that company was pretty good! What can they do about this matter, when will they be back in stock again?

That's it, the end of the line. No other suggestions from them or an apology.

I'll keep on looking. It took me ages to decide on those though,

They look bood but they should do for the price! That's shocking they haven't even told you a delivery date of the next batch. Think as a company I would of emailed to say there's been a problem hold on for next delivery *and give a ETA of this

I've had another email to tell me order has been cancelled. I get the impression they're not very well organised.

Some of the new Alpinestar stuff looks good and is getting good reviews so I might have a look at their products.
