That sounds like the place I used to work, the IT lads knew a fair bit about the system and which servers talked to which etc but when it came to the the software we used (that the company designed and wrote) they hadn't got a clue, but on the plus side they had the best coffee machine in the company.Kwacky wrote:wondering why our IT department know less about file extensions and file conversions than I do

Re: What are you doing today ??
I have come to the conclusion that where ever I have worked the IT person / persons know bugger all about anything! They choose to do things very much in there own time and still seems to be working on that old classic "trial and error" something if I had the time and was being paid what they seem to get, and did not need to actually finish what I wanted to do in the first place before the bloody thing packed up......... Would also do......! And breath ha ha ha ha.Deegee wrote:That sounds like the place I used to work, the IT lads knew a fair bit about the system and which servers talked to which etc but when it came to the the software we used (that the company designed and wrote) they hadn't got a clue, but on the plus side they had the best coffee machine in the company.Kwacky wrote:wondering why our IT department know less about file extensions and file conversions than I do

Any good? How you finding it?Kwacky wrote:D6 wrote:just ordered a new phone
That's the same one I've got
I liked the look of this one most, but was tempted by the Samsung S5 (I think it was) as that is water/splash proof. And riding through rainstorms I occasionally find my phone is wet.

Tests on the G3 show that it's good when it comes to getting wet. I've had mine in a wet rucksack without any problems.
Good battery life but the battery charges up quickly when you use the LG charger.
Camera is really good but I would prefer a few more settings on it.
Very fast processor. Play back is really good. My wife used to use a kindle to watch stuff on when she's cooking but now she uses her phone (she's got the same).
Overall I'm impressed with it.

Just watched that video of the phone submerged. Glad I went ahead with the LG now as it should clearly be ok with damp pockets.Kwacky wrote:http://bgr.com/2014/07/09/lg-g3-waterproof-test/ Test seems to show it'll survive.

Stood at the departure gate for a flight and must be nearly a 100 people stood waiting for the gate to open and be first on in a mad stampede.
Why do people do this ? Never understood it, we all have reserved numbered seats. I'm just sitting back watching all the Archie bargie and laughing to myself.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm guessing based on my own experience they want the limited overhead locker space, for their grossly oversized baggage that doesn't conform to any airline sizes I've ever seen (especially those silly frame things Ryanair use). However I'm the same as you Blade, sod the lot of 'em and I check my bag in and wait for the rush to die down, passport control in the UK is the choke point not baggage retrieval.Blade wrote:Stood at the departure gate for a flight and must be nearly a 100 people stood waiting for the gate to open and be first on in a mad stampede.

Today I've been mixing with drug addicts, solicitors, drunks, coppers and the homeless. In the City of dreaming spires, who knew it had so much to offer?
