You have some nice roads down that way, I found myself on the A291 I think it was, would have been fun on the bike.
Not forgetting the great loops around Rye.

I suppose I had better say Hi as a new guy. :)

I was a Police motorcyclist for 25 years, and for the past 10 years I have been an in house specialist motorcycle crash investigator in the private legal sector. I had t take early retirement as a result of a bad crash on the job bike, and it is how I got involved in the civil side on my retirement as my case was undervalued big time by the Police Federation solicitors and there was nobody to fight my corner and look after the interests of the rider.

I will shortly be leaving my present employer and moving to another specialist motorcycle claims legal firm.

I hold advanced Police class 1 car and bike qualifications and instructor qualifcations and was involved in the writing of the riginal Bike safe course back in 2000 ( which no longer has credibility with me, but that is another subject)

You may have seen me on Fake Britain on the BBC a few times as I have been interviewed in my capacity as an expert on bike kit and have produced various papers on ow kit fails riders in crashes through case studies.

I am also a senior advanced riding examiner and instructor, I am a qualified CBT and DAS instructor, and I wrote, ran and established the RoSPA diploma for advanced instructors from its inception until about 6 years ago.

I have attended in excess of 500 fatal crashes and I have lost count of the number of crashes I have investigated over the past 35 + years.

I am currently prevented from riding having suffered a heart attack and then heart failure last year, but that has not stopped me working, and should be back on the bike at the start of the season.

First and formost, I am a biker :) helping fellow bikers

Sorry for rambling on :(

But I hope I have a bit of credibility and I look forward to being a member of the forum.

Hi, thanks for signing up to this small corner of the internet.

I'm a defendant lawyer, working for insurance companies dealing with fatal and serious incidents, both on the road and in the workplace. I get involved with criminal, HSE and civil proceedings. In fact earlier this week I was around Berkshire way interviewing a couple of police officers.

Any advice on keeping us slappers safe on the road is always appreciated.

Look after your health and hopefully we will see you on the road when you're riding again. I'll eat your share of the cake, I'm nice like that.

A warm welcome to Tankslap T.C. hope we all make you feel at home. Clearly you know a thing or a hundred about the road and I'm sure we would all like advice about how to stay safe out there. Like Cav has mentioned there's a fair few Advanced guys and girls here Fireblade_Ro being the newest member passing her test last month in the horrible wet weather, Ive been in the advanced training for around 1 year and 4 months now and am aiming for the test very soon, just have to arrange it any help would be greatly appreciated!

Settle down here and make yourself a cuppa!!

Welcome TC! Good reading your history there, but sorry to hear about your recent health problems. Considering your work I'm amazed you get on a bike at all anymore, just goes to show once it's in your blood it's hard to shake.
