Kwacky I like the idea of free bus services. That would be a very good way of tempting people especially when you look at the amount we spend on car parks alone it's silly

Dunno about 'free' per se, but massively subsidized might work well??

I forget what the buses here charge...but it's not much, and once you pay for your ticket it gets you anywhere on the route, regardless of distance....flat fee, in other words.

A small charge would weed out the riff-raff, drunks, Sunderland fans (all one & the same, IMO), etc.

I suggested a free service for a short period to try and get people back on public transport. I'm not advocating a free service should be in place for ever.

I understand that, neither did I.....I'm merely suggesting a 'token charge' should be in place for long term usage, rather than basing fares upon mileage.

The buses have to run the routes/schedules whether they're empty or full, so I don't see why not....as long as costs are covered + 15% for profit.

However I did that at south mimms services, I had a meeting there, ended up with a £60 fine... I did not know you caant park there for more than two hours!!!!! F****ed off about that one......

I've been caught with that too.
