Even a sports bike doesn't make sense on British roads anymore. Give me a super naked any day of the week over the latest batch of Superbikes

Nice...but I don't think I could ever switch to a full-on tourer. I know they're capable, and in the right hands will keep up with just about anything on a public road...and pull all your gear too....they just don't pull at the heartstrings.

And they just don't make sense to me personally...I'm not the ride-every-day sorta person.

Look like a good commuter bike, I guess...but I get the feeling I'd struggle with the height thing on one of those.

the SX isn't a full tourer. It's done more than I expected it would. Cracking bike IMO, probably why it sells so well

My neighbour is toying with the idea of getting one to replace his Harley.
He does the blood bike thing so the panniers appeal, he likes the looks and the engine, the only thing putting him off is the seat height as he is, shall we say...vertically challenged!

The 2017 bike has got a lower seat.

Figures!.....I'd totally missed that you'd gone & bought one at some point!! Fair enough...if you've bought one and it's doing the job then sobeit.

I see the panniers and just automatically think "tourer". You just don't see a lot of those types of bike in CA. I remember the local Triumph dealer telling me that they struggled to sell three Sprints in one year, but were obliged to 'carry' them.

Nearly everything here is either a cruiser, or a sportbike...there's not much middle ground.

Yeah it's easy to miss what bike I ride, what with the details in my profile, the ongoing review, the touring photos from france and the Isle of Man and the other outing photos.......

The 2017 Z1000SX will have an introductory launch RRP starting at £9999 with the Tourer priced at £10,599 – which includes side cases, interior bags, sat nav bracket and tank pad. New for 2017 is the Z1000SX Performance version – with added Carbon Akrapovic exhaust, seat cowl, smoked screen and tank pad, priced at £10,999.

3 models with the basic under £10k. That's a bargain IMO

(lol) Yeah....I spaz out a bit with the nomenclature on bikes...when they have a name I have no problem...when they're a 'number' they don't have much identity to me.....I see 'Hayabusa' and I think "feckin' big fast bike"...I see 'Kawi 1300-whatever-it's-name-is' and nothing registers...no images.

The new one looks good but it's not that different from the current model.

I'm minded to keep the SX for a couple of years and treat myself to a decent second bike.

Birmingham Kawasaki have 11 new bikes waiting to go out at the start of March, 6 of them are the SX.

They seem to be selling really well. The SX forum has a load of new members on there.
