If they dont want us to use plastic bags then why not just ban shops from selling them at all?

There was a time when everyone took their own reusable shopping bags with them and if they removed bags altogether then everyone would go back to that.

How can they reuse them if they're not allowed to sell them? ;)

This is unlikely to affect the Gee family much at all, Mrs Gees car has always got half a dozen of the "bag for life" in the boot, along with a bottle bag and an insulated bag for cheese and butter etc, if we go shopping we just hang the whole lot (in one bag btw) on the back of the shopping trolley on the hook provided and use them at the end. It's just a bit of thinking ahead.
Having said that, we have on occasion had shopping delivered and we were gobsmacked at the amount of bags the shops use to pack stuff in, it's a good job they fit our swing bin perfectly as a bin liner. ;)

That basket above looks great, lots of nice vittles, mine somehow never look that good, it's the toilet rolls that spoil the look I think.

my wife collects plastic bags for some unkown reason and also those containers you get at the chinky takeaway our house is full of them
why dont we go paper bag like the usa uses ?
The US....or at least Cali, which is the only state that matters, dropped paper bags about ten years ago....I 'think' they have them on request, but they charge you.....personally I liked the paper ones, but all things being equal I've got better things to worry about.
