Interesting night out yesterday with work. Indoor golf, an 18 hole course of the most amazingly decorated and insanely brilliant holes.
I have honestly never seen anything like it before.

Re: What are you doing today ??
We had a call yesterday from a social worker, asking for a call back to discuss a safeguarding issue with our son.
He did an essay in his English exam. They were told to write about a rescue. Alex did his about someone struggling with their mental health and considering suicide as a way out. The person reaches out for help and gets it.
I know some people might see this as interfering busy body woke leftists but I think it's excellent that the exam board flagged up the issue and that social services responded so quickly.

Fwiw, as I started reading your thread in my mind I was already formulating a response to : "your outraged at their approach" post.

Fun stuff to look forward to.
He might change his tune once I'm working local and not at his beck and call 24/7

Well that was an unfortunate typo! Yeah that wouldn't work anyway as he is asexual and even at 15 still thinks girls are yucky. Probably save himself a lot of grief tbh!Cav wrote:You offered him a bride?! WTF!

I've been out cycling in one million degree weather.
Now I have a suntan that makes me look like a zebra.... it's hilarious.

Last night shift of this swing. Up until last friday I thought it was going to be my last one ever. It's going to be hard leaving next trip.

Nowt.
I'm frickin' bored....there's nothing on TV and it's too hot to do anything outside....I was going to go cycling early this morning but I slept in. Just a lazy day, I guess.

This is so true. I know it's sounds corny, but that job your looking for is out there and it will find you when you least expect it. At least now your ready for it.C00kiemonster wrote:Keep applying, you know your wanted now so you'll get the next one.kiwikrasher wrote:Last night shift of this swing. Re: What are you doing today ??
Update in the work thread on all that.
But that job was the unicorn. Process job 15 mins from home.
If the role doesn’t eventuate from this latest development I will probably hang offshore for the redundancy with would be hopefully in the next 12 months. That would clear my Mortgage and keep me in wages for about 12 months

Re: What are you doing today ??
Trying to contact the passport office, apparently I need an interview to prove that I am me despite having my picture verified twice now, I must look like a dodgy character.
Then off to work in a bit, who knows where I will end up tonight. I prefer one long run rather than 2 or 3 short ones so Newcastle and Durham areas the last couple of nights were nice.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Went to a party yesterday afternoon, went on until the small hours..
I've never been one for parties, however it would have been very poorly perceived if I hadn't attended as it was a leaving do, combined with their 50th birthday.
Social distancing has clearly been abandoned entirely by all those attended. When combined with the copious consumption of alcohol, and the live band booming out continuously making all conversations "close proximity body fluid exchange events" it is clear to see why Cv19 is having a substantial resurgence.
I will most certainly be testing myself tomorrow. I have a funeral I really should attend in Cambridge on Monday, so I really hope I've dodged the Cv19 bullet.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Today my friend Sergio came to help me knock out some jobs on the car.
Both front shocks and top mounts.
Full service -fuel filter, the wrong one was supplied.
Discs and pads all round. One rear caliper was seized but I got it moving after breaking my wind back tool and using part of an old drill bit to repair that.
And the AC condenser, which was not behind the front bumper as expected so dealing with removing that and drilling seized bolts was unnecessary
In 8 hours there was more banter, coffee and BS than work but we got it all done.
