Google tells me that they are quite edible... especially so if you're an Australian Aboriginal. Otherwise they're a protected species, and the fine you'll get makes for a very expensive sandwich.

Re: What are you doing today ??
So today was an adventure
We have a community run group up here called Mountain of Joy. Run by a local school teacher, and in normal times provides pre cooked meals and support for families in need.
It’s who I called on to help Jess out when she was down with COVID and struggling.
Well with the floods she’s had lots of calls. She fund raised a few thousand over the last few days with a view to get fuel for generators up to about 15 households flooded in the upper reaches of the Colo River. They have no power and are completely cut off by road.
When home I try to help her out where I can. So I spent the morning collecting Jerry cans from locals and got them loaded on my trailer and filled, then delivered to our local volunteer State Emergency Service, who ferried all the fuel by boat to the stranded families. So happy some families will survive tonight a bit more comfortably.
These floods are the worst I’ve seen here in 20 yrs. We’ve had a few good ones, especially recently but this one is breaking all records.
Byron came with me. He helped me unload, fill and load the Jerry cans. Then unload it at the SES. 300L
of fuel and not one complaint from him.
We talked about what we were doing, the impact our small input could make and the importance of community and helping when you can.
Best home schooling lesson ever.

More of the same.
Byron was like “are we getting more fuel today so we can go to where the cool helicopter is?”

Dropped my wife off at hospital.
I've got the day off so I'm getting as much housework done as I can.

Checked on the caravan
Went for a walk with the boy, saw a beautiful buzzard.
Cleaned the bike
Took it for a quick blast
Ate pizza
Now drinking beer.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Took my wife out for a drive this morning as she was going stir crazy. We stopped off at a garden centre that happened to stock fish so I bought a dozen green tetra.
Spoke to my dad. I was a relief to get his call. He's had 4 strokes in 24 hours and it wasn't looking promising. He's got slightly slurred speech and he still can't use his left hand but he's able to get about.
Did my ironing and started packing- I'm going to Swansea for a few nights on Monday.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Flooded in again. 4th time in just over 2 yrs. 5 weeks after last time. Bring back the drought
I’ve saved 3 long neck turtles off the roads over the last few weeks, high river levels are displacing them. Byron and I saved one in a certain spot and the next day with the other kids in the car we drove past the same spot.. and had to save another turtle. So many get run over because people just don’t give a sh*t. Pissed me off.
