Boris Johnson - born in the USA.
Carrie Symonds - banned from the USA.

You couldn't make it up if you tried. (rolf)

yes it has spread all over the world, but the rate of deaths and cases has had everything to do with who is in charge.

bit of math for you. UK has 67.8 M people, NZ has 4.8 M people, so its roughly 7.1% of the UK... so logically if you report 7.1% of the UK's COVID stats you should be somewhere close to NZ's stats if "whos in charge" has no consideration right?

Lets see how that would look

NZ 1,154 cases 22 dead.............. UK @ 7.1% reporting 20,093 cases 2858 dead

Not even fooking close! And why? Jacinda locked the whole of NZ down and borders as soon as possible for 4 weeks with huge political backlash. Then eased restrictions in a controlled manner with borders still locked down.

Boris decides to lock down the borders after 40,000 die, shakes hands with patients in hospital and gives himself the virus.

And yes I know there is hugely different geographically situations and population densities but 20 times per capita the cases and 130 times per capita the deaths?

there is every consideration for having a f**king idiot in charge.

By that logic the US should have way more deaths than it currently does.
It doesn't, there's no disputing that.
And we still have an idiot in charge...there's no disputing that, either.

Hugely different situations, as you say...and then there's questions about why the outcomes are different??

USA vs NZ = 1.7%

USA @ 1.7% 33,000 cases 1887 deaths

Compared to NZ
29 times the cases per capita
85 times the deaths per capita

Yeah he’s a f**king idiot too and the stats back that up.

Los Angeles County alone has more than twice the population of New Zealand. The City Of Los Angeles itself would perhaps make a better comparison if you're going purely off numbers. We both know that's not a particularly useful comparison.
The only comparison that's worthwhile...and this is just my opinion, is to compare numbers for any given area as they alter/shift one way or the other. How the disease is affecting other countries doesn't make sense to me...it's not a parameter by which to judge anything.

Or you could just ask yourself whether you thought the person in charge of your country took control, had a plan, made sure it worked, made sure it was implemented and also had a plan to move out of it afterwards.

I'm pretty sure a majority in the UK would say ours was none of those. In fact the fat twat even made sure he caught the virus himself.

Los Angeles Country is averaging slightly more cases and nearly twice the deaths PER DAY than NZ has experienced through the whole crisis, so for just more than twice the population you are battling way above NZ's average. NZ has one active case in quarantine and no new cases for 15 days.

cause and effect it's pretty simple

You have your opinion and i know by experience you will not be convinced otherwise.

My opinion is that the virus has had remarkably different consequences in different areas and it has had a direct correlation to how the country/area has been managed by their governing bodies.

My line on this all started when you said "who's in charge has no consequence" when in fact it has had major consequence.

Coming soon to a region near you, lockdown 2.0.

I'm hoping that because it's in the sun is B.S. if not it's going to ruin my camping holidays this summer.

There are 2 protests happening near me. The closest one is happening on Monday and the Police issued a notice sympathising and stating they do not condone the actions of the Police in the US. They also explained what they do in my county to avoid this happening and that they wish to see many people supporting the peaceful protest while still exercising social distancing.

They also said, which I like, that the Police Officers at the protest will be there in an act of support to the protest and that they do not wish for any confrontation as they stand for the same cause!

So if Cummings and Johnson had made the correct decision just a week earlier, then half those who have died would most likely still be with us.

You would like to think criminal prosecutions are in the pipeline.

Why? They went with the information they had at the time, same as anyone else does.
Hindsight is always 20/20, etc.

They took advice from the experts and promptly ignored it.
