I learned a very valuable phrase from a work colleague many years ago that's worth keeping in your head.

"Divide and conquer"

We use it in coding, when a problem seemed to big to solve simply divide it up into smaller problems and conquer them. Just keep dividing until you've conquered the first problem, then move into the next.

Don't over think life itself, Cav.

Strikes me you also need some 'me' time.

When you built and fitted out your workshop you seemed to really enjoy your efforts.

Do something you enjoy for a while and let your wife know you need some occasional time like that. Its not selfish, its something we all need now and again.

I've been feeling worn out and flu-like since I woke up New Years day. Initially I thought it might be a hangover (though I didn't drink much) but now I'm not so sure.

I was in contact with my brother on the 30th so wondering if I have caught something. I do doubt it though, I was great with hygiene and wearing a mask etc. I came into contact with no one else except him.

I did the online 111 assessment.. they want me to call 999. No. I'm not.

Is there a test centre near by?

Yes but I don't display symptoms (cough, temperature).

Not everyone has the same symptoms. Many have no symptoms at all.

Obviously it's your choice but if there's a test centre near by I would go, just to rule it out. We did for my son when he had a sore throat.

My work have issued a skeleton shift rota of which I'm required in the office on Thursdays. I've booked myself a covid test in the next 45 minutes.

Otherwise I've been self-isolating anyway really.. I don't go anywhere.

I had the hydrodilation injection in the shoulder yesterday.

It's a mix of saline and steroids. The fluid is injected directly into the shoulder capsule to inflate it. It's a pretty weird feeling as the fluid goes in and the pressure builds up in the shoulder.

It was sore last night so I got about 3 hours sleep.

Physio on Friday so hopefully we can get some improvement.

Not yet but my manager said to stay at home regardless of the result if I'm still not feeling well.

If I haven't heard back in 6 days I can call a number to see what's going on.

I've had 2 tests previous due to surgery and I never received my results for those either.

I wanted to stress Cav as little as possible with my input, so went for my worst case scenario.
The Cv19 results come through pretty rapidly. The longest I've gone from test to negative confirmation text has been less than 36hrs, fastest has been about 18 hrs. Judging from associates who have tested positive, the timescale seems to be the same for a positive result.

Some places are providing results in under 2 hours. It depends where you go to get tested.

The official word is that rapid tests are 2 hours turnaround but a positive result requires you to take the proper test.

The proper test takes 24 hours typically but sometimes up to 48. If no result is received within 6 days you need to contact them.

I was 48 hours exactly.
