Had to pop to out to exchange some trainers at lunchtime. It should normally take about 45 mins to drive, but that sat nag said an hour due to traffic..

So I took the bike...

35 mins (devil) and a stupid grin on my face when I go there...

The ride home may have been quicker (bandit)

Rode up to North Oxford BMW to check out the S1000R.

Rode it, liked pretty much everything about it. Only big downside is euro5 had sucked the soul out of the engine, and BMW don't seem to have played the game.

I also seen to have popped a fork seal as there was oil all over the buttom of the right fork. Will get that booked in tomorrow.

Taxed, tested, and took the long way home this morning before "work". Normally I'm driving miss daisy after a long layoff, but not today. Felt like putting on an old glove.

Called to check on the XR.

It needs new brake pads again... I know it's a heavy bike, but what do BMW make their pads out of? Cheese ?

Picked it up. New MOT, fork seal, brake pads, large hole in my wallet!!

God knows what brake pads they put in, but the fecking awful. No bite, no feel, and lacking stopping power.

It's a madness isn't it. How many hours for a 2 smoker? Or do they measure minutes?

20 but the rebuilds are cheap and quick, a 4t needs piston valves and chains

Took the afternoon of for bike fettling

Rode up to Oxford BMW to get the service book up to date, I forgot to take it last year. Stripped all the accessories. Was going to give it a clean in a bit but it looks like rain and the dealer said don't worry... So I won't.

Assuming all goes well, new bike day tomorrow (happy)

Met up with Mick for fish and chips and a ride down to Glastonbury. Then a very random route home lol.... Needless to say I was knackered when I got back.

I have to say, riding and feeling warm, not wet or cold is a real treat lol...
