On Tuesday the federal government announced it will increase the tobacco excise by 12.5 per cent a year for the next four years. The plan will cause the price of a packet of 25 cigarettes to rise to about $40, up from $25 today. Bitter though it may be for smokers, the hefty price rise is nothing new.

Nah....I don't smoke that much anyway. I'm way less than a pack a day...average smoker is 31 ciggies a day, which I just can't imagine.
And I've certainly never had any legal troubles 'cos I smoked too many cigarettes earlier that night.......

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Drivers! I can understand how pile ups can happen. I watched a car pull out from the slow lane into the middle lane cutting up me then pull out in front of a car in the fast lane who had to slam on his brakes...how fast did this car driver drive....70, 80, 90...nope he was doing around 55 when he pulled in front of me as I had to slam my brakes on and I then undertook him while he was still at that constant speed. What the hell is wrong with people. Maybe he wanted an insurance claim??

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
I've seen this happen a fair few times Rossgo, they leave carnage in their wake and rely on every other drivers skill and reflexes to keep them albeit unwittingly out of hospital and court. The only reason I've ever seen for this is their selfish/stupid desire to be in a particular lane, possibly out habit or just plain lack of skill and familiarity with multi-lane roads. They are a bloody menace and deserve to be removed from the roads for safety's sake.Rossgo wrote:Drivers! I can understand how pile ups can happen. I think that is summed up very well Deegee! Couldn't agree more with them being removed from the roads, if anything was to happen it would end very badly

Some dickhead trying to get a £200 refund on eBay for a £300 Arrow 3-1 he bought off me 8 months ago. He reckons it's bent and doesn't fit together. He probably done it himself by not being very good at DIY, it's taken the cünt 3 weeks to get the old exhaust nuts and studs off his old exhaust off. Trying to shame me by saying I should be ashamed for ripping off another biker. What a cočk.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
People who drive 30MPH in 60s so you over take them and blast off but when you get into a 30 these mother f^&kers think it's acceptable to speed in the said 30 and catch up with you and sit up your arse when you yourself are doing the correct speed. I laugh at these people they can't do 60 on country roads but they can speed in built up areas and somehow they think their amazing drivers...well done!

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Harley riders....
What an anti-social, self obsessed, bunch of pricks !!!!!!
While out today I inadvertently ended up in the middle of a harley rideout, joys of roundabouts. As they where running "second man drop" I decided to try and keep out of the way and just get past them, they just seemed obsessed in forcing their way in front of me and just generally blocking me from passing....
At least when traffic arrived I was able to sling it between the cars an drop them.

They've closed the Aston Expressway because they've found an old WW2 bomb near there.
For those of you not from around these parts, it's the main road into and out of the city from the motorway as well as the roads to the north of the city.
It'll be a fecking nightmare for traffic.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Tonnes of the stuff, all over Europe, but mostly in ex-battlefields and targeted cities.
However a company I worked for was levelling sand reclaimed from a sandbank in the Thames Estuary at Felixstowe docks when they extended it back in the late 80's, there were half a dozen incendiary bombs a day coming out, some blew in the sand pump, others you only saw as a smear of white corrosion or smoke after the blade had been over them. The UXB boys were called to start with, but after a few times no one bothered - it's still all under Trinity Terminal.
It turned out that very young German bomber crews that bottled their mission or couldn't get over the target used the Thames estuary as a dumping ground - no one wanted to arrive back home with an intact or partial payload for a couple of obvious reasons. I'm sure our lads did exactly the same - possibly in the same area.

I have a specific one in mind is why I'm asking.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Reason #1 Failure to carry out a mission (possible charge of cowardice)
Reason #2 Landing with a partial or full load of bombs was fairly hairy (could end badly).
Reason #3 You could fly faster with no bombs, more likely to outrun fighters (home quicker too)

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Norwich was often used as a dumping ground by German bomber crews as it was often the last English city they could see from the sky when returning from bombing missions to the Midlands and Manchester.
Weirdly i was only talking about it yesterday to my mom as we walked round the City centre.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
I was thinking of it in terms of range/fuel load. Maybe??
Prolly just a general case of the further you are from a bomb, the better.
That would work just fine for me personally...I'm just a big scaredy-cat, I guess.
