Paris-Dakar bikes - KTMs

Post by duke63 »

Just reading about Sam Sutherland's bike.

Air filter changed ATLEAST once a day!!

Carries 33 litres of fuel.

Oil, tyres, wheels, discs and brake pads changed every day.

Can spend 30-40 minute spells fiat out at 90 mph.

No one has ever broken a front cannon sub frame.

Impressive stats - what impressed me most was that KTM have a front cannon mounted on a sub frame, I could see that going down well on the daily commute. (bandit)

Those are pretty much a one-shot bike though, aren't they??? (no pun intended)

I mean...they're all modified to hell & back and still end up being thrashed into "beyond useless" status by the end of the race.
