Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I had to change my journey as the slip road to the motorway was blocked by a burning car.
Normally I wouldn't have minded as I can take the long way home, but it was cold and raining.

Another shitty commute into work. I was half tempted to take this car this morning. Good job I didn't as the traffic was terrible.

On the back of a previous post, I have been looking at cheap track bikes to use instead of the 999, manages to win a 03 cbr600rr for £1480 of ebay.
basically the lad had an off at Snett in 1015 in which the bike slid for quite a it so has some cosmetic damage, it has sat in his garage ever since !
he's chucking in paddock stands and some scrubs.
needs new:
fairings (ordered )
rearsets
crash bungs
1 clip on with new grips
screen
it already has :
PC3
QS
updated 06 forks
gear indicator
race filler cap
ordered a set of black gel gloss fairings so if all goes to plan she'll be going to Almeria.

Sounds like a bargain Mick, you sure this one won't end up so smart you won't want to take it on track?

Sounds like a bargain, but do you want to risk a bike that's more than one thousand years old?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
No not this one already bought some of the bits 'used' off ebay. Not even going to touch the forks or rear suspension OEM will do. Once the fairings are on and clip on's done it virtually ready to go. I'll keep the fairings im taking off as spares.Deegee wrote:Sounds like a bargain Mick, you sure this one won't end up so smart you won't want to take it on track?
This is what it looked like before he had his 'off'

Dont forget we've seen pics of the Mutley, the 999 and your man cave Mick, maybe it'll start with new pads, or possibly a steering damper, maybe even a race filler cap. Modding can be a hard habit to break......kingfixer wrote:Not even going to touch the forks or rear suspension OEM will do. Once the fairings are on and clip on's done it virtually ready to go.
Good Luck whatever you decide to do/don't do.

Emailed that pic of your bike to my mate Bruce who got the rear subframe off you. He was well impressedkingfixer wrote:I was working from the home office today and got rapidly bored as it looked nice outside so took the Multi down to Fowlers and had a breakfast, when I got back it was still nice so got the 999 out and took for a short spin up the Ducati dealers and had a coffee, almost forgot what a beautiful thing she is when you get a good look at her.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Got the day off today, so after some brief work stuff and getting some Euro's for next week, took the multi out for a spin and called into Fowlers for a cup of grog. Thought about cleaning it then decided it wasn't really dirty enough so put it away. Then looked at the 999 and thought shall I ? but decided no as I have to meet er indoors in a bit.
Women !! always seem to get in the way of important stuff.....like riding motorbikes.
Aarghhhhhh, she just rang me to say there has been a change of plans and I'm not meeting her now, so I could have gone out on the 999 after all

Took a trip down the winding lanes to JHP to pick up my recovered seat and got asked if I wanted a job there on Saturdays
So good to get out on warm, dry and grippy roads.
