Waterproof Gloves - Part II

Post by Kwacky »

My Five Gloves went off for a review after I complained that they weren't waterproof. I still suspect that the stitching stretched which caused the problem, as they were fine to start off with.

Anyway, Five can't repair them.

Motoblouz France have offered me the following replacements:-

http://www.motoblouz.eu/gloves-rev-it-a ... 461-v.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Personally I think I prefer these, which haven't been offered:-

I've read some good reviews on the Rev it waterproof gloves.

The astars are slightly more expensive but I wouldn't personally see that as being better.

Have you read plenty of owner real world reviews ?

They're all pretty new models so I'm struggling to find anything long term and meaningful other that "great fit - would recommend"

My last waterproof gloves were Alpinestars and they were spot on. The lasted for years and the textiles I wear are Alpinestar. I've been very impressed with the kit from them. So much so I replaced my Rukka trousers for the Alpine version. I know it's not cheap gear but I've certainly got my money out of the stuff I've had from them so far.

Just realised I have had a pair of astar waterproof gloves now for probably 10 year. They get little use tbh but always performed faultlessly with no leak's.

Can still highly recommend the Held Air and Dry gloves. two different compartments in one glove. One summer part and one waterproof part.

Motobllouz don't stock Held. I have to have what they've got as they're the ones replacing mine.

They are offering a fair few alternatives which is good mate. Shame Five can't repair them after starting off very good.

From those i would stick to the goretex gloves. Its far superior to any other kind of waterproof liner.

The Alpinestars have arrived.

Usual A* standard.

They are more touring than the Five gloves both in appearance and protection, with less armour than the Fives which were effectively a waterproof race glove.

I'll try them out on the way home.

I give up (facepalm)

The right glove doesn't fit -the inner lining is all twisted. I tried for an hour last night to get it lined up but to no avail.

Back they go.

I give up.

The new gloves have arrived but they're too small.

I've sent them back and I'm asking for a refund.
