I think the German government is committed to phasing out the manufacture of current Diesel engines by 2030.

If this has the performance enhancing potential that we all imagine, then wouldn't we expect to see the technology adopted very soon in motorsports.? If an F1 team (with their development infrastructure & budget) developed it & were successful, then you'd expect it would be adopted pretty quickly.? (In the same effect that Deegee mentioned above).

That's a good one...or maybe even endurance racing?? I know AUDI pushed it's diesel-whatever technology through it's Le Mans team....destroyed the field with it's petrol cars and then did even better with it's diesel-powered racers. Probably still does.
