I think we say we are capable of all things and anything - why limit ourselves??

At the same time we point out that Sunderland is a bit of a waste-of-space and if they feel like culling our numbers it would be an ideal place to start.

Oh...and San Bernardino too please while they're at it.

The thing is, if we were the ones doing the exploration, would we be in a position to decide whether the inhabitants get to continue living on their own planet?
I would suggest not, so the idea of a Day The Earth Stood Still scenario of an alien race deciding whether we are entitled to live on this earth doesn't really win me over.

Unless of course, their own planet is dying and they have no other options.

They'd have to fight me for my bike and chocolate digestives though.
