The HJC RHPA 10 is a race lid so not suprising really.

Very good lid but as you say more for warmer climes

Well. Won't be riding it for the next few days! 43-45 degC forecast. Once was enough. Hopefully it'll cool down enough next week to get out on it while the kids are at school.

Left it at home. It was trying to snow when I got up so I took the wimp option.

Washed it. While it was snowing. Needless to say it wasn't the best of washes.

Took the cover off, and thats where it started going down hill.....

Because it's been say outside quite a few parts have mould on the them, but i decided to ignore that for the moment and fire her up in preparation for next weekend. Well, this is the first time in nearly 7 years of owning her that she failed to start on the button :| not even a flicker.. Put the charger on and gave it a few moments and at least the engine turned so looks like to cold snap has shagged the battery..

Careful nutz. I believe starting the RSV with a low charge battery can shag the sprag clutch.

Your spot on mate. Once you get past the soleniod that protects the sprag you have to be very careful. You get to know the noise it makes when the twin kicks back against the sprag and thats the point when you walk away and leave it to charge some more.

Last night took the cover off it, rolled it forward and backward. Took a good look at it. It hasn't come out since getting washed weeks ago so it needed to get a bit of air to it. I also sprayed on a lot of WD40 onto the mirror hinges as they didn't move at all. When I moved it first it make a massive crack and I thought I had broken the fairing, luckily it was just the old grease or whatever it was inside!! Now moves freely!

Fitted the motobatt battery, what a PITA that was. It's ever so slightly bigger that the previous one and is missing a but where the battery clip goes.

All made worse by dropping one of the battery screws into the undertray, which then required 80% of the back end to be dismantled to get to it (swear)

Gave it a quick wash, cleaned and lubed the chain, then took it for a quick blat. My god I'd missed riding.

Also moved the track bike to it's next temporary home.

Quick wash and polish earlier. Had the brake pads out again (still squealing) and gave the callipers and pistons and good going over with a toothbrush and brake cleaner, gave the pads braking surface and disks a good going over with scotchbrite, greased the backs of the pads again, reassembled and bled the brake lines and replaced the fluid. The squealing has now stopped. If it happens again I'll just replace the pads, EBC sintered are about £16. And I think EBC organic pads are slightly cheaper. Or vice-versa. Only 1 calliper up front too so saves a few quid.

Exactly the same, but add an extra 10.2 miles!

Although Monty will no doubt have done a few more miles than that!!!
