I've no idea what his situation is. Given the way he acts I suspect he pimps his arse out at the weekends. He's a bit creepy.

The number of times I've seen people in flash cars pull and put a fiver or a tenner in is staggering.

Not being home.

A large monsoonal trough was over Darwin so my flight from Timor couldn't land on time and we had to circle about for 40 mins for a break in the storm to land in Darwin. That had me miss my connect to Sydney. So I've been flown to Brisbane instead and in a flea bitten hotel then catch my connection to Sydney early tomorrow morning.
I'll barely have time to get groceries before the kids get off the school bus and I'll be into full time dad mode. Not to mention I should be getting laid right about now.

Isn't the Gold Coast up Brisbane way? I'm sure you could find some entertainment to distract you.

It's 10.15pm and I've got to be up at 5 am to catch my flight. I'm out near the airport miles from the city and 85 km away from the Gold Coast.

But it's only this far "holds up thumb and forefinger" on the map.

Fair points. I don't know Australia. I thought the Gold Coast was the local resort for Brisbane.

I thouht The Gold Coast was in either South America or Africa.

I'm guessing this is why I failed my geography finals.
And the re-sit.

Got a quote today for 2 fitted wardrobes.

£6980 (shocked) and I'm not sure that including pulling my pants down and shoving one up my ass either :? Actually I'm pretty sure that would be counted as an optional extra (swear)

My brother in law fits bedroom furniture for a living with a company called Hammonds. Expensive as f*ck for what is essentially flat pack furniture with some scribing.

It's not even wood it's MFC according to the sales lady. One quick look inside and it soon reveals MFC is code for chipboard.

£7000 for chipboard (gah) . I would want solid oak panels for that.

I can buy a 2 year old litre sports bike with enough power to pull a house down and enough electronics to pilot a space shuttle for the same price as some chipboard flatpack. Now that is not good value and never going to happen (swear)

Good quality furniture...especially period pieces, is awesome. Nearly everything these days is particle board junk. It's almost laughably bad. I understand why closets are that way...made-to-measure, etc.....but I'd rather have standalone stuff that's nice than the space-maximiser built-ins that aren't.

We've had all of our bedroom done with fitted wardrobes and cabinets. I could have bought that ZX7RR and had change for a few trackdays.

I got ours done. 2x2 door and 1x 3 door wardrobes. Shelves and drawers and hanging space in all. AU$1200 fitted. About £750 at current exchange rate.

It would be cheaper to fly my cabinet maker over Blade!!

Get home a ticket and I'll reimburse home kiwi (lol)

I'm going to look at ikea and see if they do anything module I can fit myself. The area in the bedroom has been made for fitted wardrobes. We could obviously put free standing in there but the fitted ones do look good and usually I would say fitted stuff looks like it's come straight out of a static caravan (blush)

We've ordered a fitted bedroom suite for our daughter. Over £3k but it'll be done professionally and we've used them in the past.

Your handy - do it yourself. They do tall sliding door and tracks in most DIY shops then go to town with tracks, shelves and drawers which will be in the same aisle of the store. You'll get all of it for hundreds.

I've built a few - just make sure the framing you use is solid and straight - not too difficult then.

Then buy a bike with the difference. 7k for chipboard :D

100% with you there Cookie there is no way I can pay that kind of money for chipboard no matter how good it looks.

I dont mind spending decent money for anything tbh but I want to get something worth paying for and no problem if its expensive as long as its good value and a premium product.
