Hopefully it will be a case of ; Turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones.

Largely it depends who's the best chess player IMO mate.: Knowing what you want, and planning to achieve that from these sorts of "opportunities" is what most aspiring types will do.
Using their emotional intelligence and empathy to predict the responses & considerations of the interviewer, and modify accordingly, is the most successful tac IMHO..

Just realised, I haven't played chess for years :(

Sit back and listen to what they have to say.

If they've discussed say 10 topics throw 3 away and simply ignore them. Pick 7 topics you want to discuss, concede 2 reasonably quickly, battle over 2 you don't really care about the outcome and stand firm over your main 3. A lot of times they have to be seen to discuss certain points but neither of you cares about them. If you can spot those and quickly deal with them the other person will be more prepared to help you obtain your key points. It's not a game of chess for me, it's about getting the other person on your side so they feel that they want to help you because you've helped them.

I love a good game of chess....can never find anyone to play, and playing the computer is a waste of time....it always makes an opening on it's 9th move (I think??)...and once it does, you can't really NOT take it.

Good luck Kwacky. I'm sure you will come out of it well. At the end of the day an appraisal should be your thoughts on the situation not just theirs. On top of that your description of how to deal with it seems sounds lol!

A couple of years ago we stayed in a delightful chalet in Courchevel. About mid holiday we got snowed in, whole resort closed down from too much snow.. (third world problems, eh.! )
Anyway, a well stocked library & cellar + the Chalet Host was a cordon bleu chef so my frustration was appeased & all was peachy.
Until Deany was talking to some of the other guests, and seeing two of them playing chess dropped in that "Mark likes to play chess" :@

Weighing up getting good and stoned. Ive never done it before and it's unbecoming for one to say one doesn't like something if one has never tried it.

Have lots of food handy (lol) and only inhale about half of what you think you can handle.

Not a pothead by any stretch but I enjoy a couple in my first couple of weeks off. I get tested on the way to work so even if I wanted to I can't hit it hard.

Do you have it in joints? I'm not keen on inhaling the burning paper and plant matter so looking into vaping it using a dry herb vaper.

I use a small pipe. I have so little I'm not to worried about the ill effects. I have used a vape with a mate. Was weird but still effective! He used a heat gun and a plumbing brass elbow with a gauze, and the vapour was collected in a oven bag then inhaled from that. It was a trial version that he gave up on (lol)

In my younger days I make a bong out of a jam jar, filled it with ice and vodka. Smoothest hit I've ever had!!

Used responsibly like you would a drink after work I see no problem with pot. But if you wake up smash a bong and continue to do so, different story. But if you woke up and started slugging a 40oz of vodka it's the same problem.
