Re: What are you doing today ??
Last night went to see Russell Howard. He was superb. Though when we turned up we noticed one of our seats was missing!! It was because the sound box was there instead for another show through the week and noone knew it was going to be there for the stand up too!! We were shocked!! We had good seats and spent the money for them so had to talk to the staff, the manager sorted us out even better seats haha!!
We had a warm up act called Steve Ball, he Co wrote Good News with Russell Howard and he was very flipping funny!! However as soon as Russell Howard walked onto the stage he was heckled by a woman, maybe a quarter of the audience at first. He clearly had a laugh at it saying Steve was just saying how you he were the best audience he's had and now I'm getting this shit etc etc, laughing away! However there was a woman that just didn't stop and Russell got very pissed off with it and he even said he'll only do 10 mins and he'll "**** off'!! Anyway he managed to pick himself up and carried on with the show but the woman carried on around half way into the show and the manager had to talk to her!! And all the audience had a go at her!
By the end I think he had enough and just finished his act and said thanks and walked off. Felt for him to be honest as he had done a marvellous job throughout would.of been nice for him to bow and take the round of applause etc. Poor bloke!

That sounds a bit crap to me, Rossgo.. the woman was ruining it for everyone else.
Poor bloke though. Glad you enjoyed it all the same

Re: What are you doing today ??
Cheers Cav. Totally agree. A stand up comedian realises he will get a bit and they will all have their own ways of shutting them up while making the audience laugh which he did but the woman was clearly drunk and wanted to carry on which he and we got very fed up of. Regardless of that he did a cracking show and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes him or stand up. Apparently his UK tour is his warm up for his world tour soon. He did say he's trying different jokes in each show to see what takes and what doesn't take for his finial show...I found it all great! Didn't like taking the piss out of our national anthem which I'm sure majority was the same as only heard a couple of laughs from the crowd but other than that take the piss out of everything else and we loved it!!

Jimmy Carr deals with hecklers fairly well.

Yep....he was pretty good. You have to figure the morons are heckling prolly for the first time....and he deals with them every single show.

You know what these Black Country women are like.
I prodded the bruise on her arm and asked her if it hurt. She threatened to break my other foot.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Going through a bunch of tests.
Anyone good at
Inductive Reasoning - shapes moving around in a pattern - very easy when it's simple pattern but when it's messed up it makes no sense to me!!
Deductive Reasoning - is a bunch of gobbledygook really!!
Engineering types will be very good at Inductive reasoning as apparently it shows good problem solving skills
The reason for this post is I really need help!! I can't get my head around it.

Re: What are you doing today ??
From what I can gather:
Deductive reasoning is where you start with a theory and you work through to confirm it. If working on a new concept this is what I would do at work. You deduce the answer with solid reasoning.
Inductive reasoning is the opposite, you start with the observations, spot the trend and then theorise from there. You create the answer due to observations.

Precisely right Cav...but what if it makes no sense to you whatsoever...by you I mean me, does that make me dumb?!
I can't not get my head around either one, both seem like nonsense.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Those are the sort of pattern tests I had to do for my 11+ to get into grammar school.
Our minds all work differently, some are better at problem solving than others. It's not the greatest test of IQ but it can be used as a decent indicator. It's more about speed of process and approaches to sorting information.
