It's a pity the after sales support in Aussie is so bad because I really like them. I'm seriously thinking of selling the track bike as I'm not going to get much of a chance to take it out now having the kids solo (to do a track day I have to leave home at 5.30am and wouldn't get back till 6.30-7 pm). I'm trying to talk my friend out of her 748S that has been parked up for 3 years, but not looking hopeful. So a supersport to fang solo while the kids are at school is quite tempting, and the Multi for the two up rides.

V4 or V-twin though, you can't have an inline 4 naked IMO

I'm a bit skeptical of MV support being good anywhere at all,,,,they have an appalling reputation for that....which is such a pity, as they really are a beautiful looking bike.

I've not heard of MV dealer problems. I have had a read of the MV Forums and so far there are no known issues with the 800.

I've got the big V-twin in the Multi Cav, if I get a second bike I want something as a keeper. Hence I'm doing my best to get the 748S. The lass that owns it has had it since new and it is immaculate, she's even more OCD than me. It's got all the track and road gear so can be set up for both. Not that with my record I'd take it on the track. It's garaged in Sydney and she now lives n Perth. She has told me when she makes up her mind I have first refusal. I've known her for 11 yrs and worked with her for 7, shes like my older sister, to the point she said she'd sell it to me to keep it in family

Maybe it's just a California thing?? Making bikes CA compliant is a bit of a PITA. The dealers who've tried carrying MV usually drop the franchise after just a few months stating lack of support. Been a while since I checked, though.

A mate bought the F4 312 Kwacky. Had radiator problems, leaks from brand new. Took months and months to get it sorted. Only one main dealer in Sydney and they were a pain to deal with from what he said, and he was a reasonable bloke. By the time it got sorted he got sent overseas with work and it's sitting at his dads with less than 2000km on the clock.

I guess you've got to look at this stuff fairly phlegmatically....I mean, no-one ever posts up a thread that reads "Hey, I went out for a ride today and absolutely nothing broke on my bike, no-one pissed me off, and no-one crashed....even the reg/rec. didn't break (for once)."

S1000r sport pack is what you want, the Aprilia is an excellent looking bit of kit but man o man are they fragile.
Or get your self a Z1000, I have some Ixil pipes for the Kwak. :-)

I test rode the z1000 a couple of years ago and liked it, but it's way too close to the z1000sx which is staying.

I've not ridden the BMW. Frankie won't give me the keys to his.

The 1050 Speed Triple R was supposed to be quicker around Mallory than the Daytona 675r in the PB test.

I don't believe them figures as it takes no account for conditions or tyres or even how hard Rutter feels confident to push after only a few laps on a strange bike.

I read PB every month and great feature but the results are pretty meaningless imo.

I thought those Mallory tests were done with stock bikes, so the tyres they have when they come out of the factory?
