Post by duke63 »

Seem to have gone up by 8%. The MT10 is now £10,800 up from £9999.

R1M was £18000 and now £19399.

Talking to Honda dealers at the NEC they hadn't released a price because of the YEN exchange rate and wanted to see what the market did before publishing an RRP price.

It's more to do with the change in value between the Yen and the Pound

Fair enough. I just figure that the prices are never, EVER, going to go down...and bikes have always been expensive for what you actually get...financially they make no sense at all.

Bike prices dropped quite a lot here in the UK about 10 years ago.

For me I think you get a lot of bike for your money. A 200bhp racebike with full electronics for £15k? That's still a bargain IMO.

Okay...then yes....performance-wise, a bike really can't be beaten in terms of value for money. But they're not really practical...at least not for me, and not something I want to ride every day. Not by any stretch. They take a bit of commitment...that's why they're worthwhile.

Performance-wise you really can't beat a bike.. £8k for a 600cc suspersport or £15k for a 200bhp superbike.

When it comes to a cheap runaround you really would have to compare something other than a sports bike. For a car, a Citroen C1 is clearly the best choice - about £6k, £20 road tax, £30 tyres, 60+mpg.

You'd have to look at a scooter really for practicality

8K and 15K are two vastly different prices....the difference between a 600 & a 1000 here is just a couple of grand.

£11k for a 600cc. Crap. It needs to be special for that. I can't see interest in the 600cc supersports increasing if that's the asking price.

Never mind the R6, look at the scooter prices! £10,699 for a scooter, must be a mistake.

There isn't much competition left now though and it's probably going to be the best 600 you can buy. Hopefully people buy it or it could be a long time before another manufacturer puts money into developing another. The 2013 on 675R was nearly 11k new.
